I am on Vargas but i dont know how i shall use blitz somone help me!

Select the Blitz command on Sabin's menu. When the cursor is on Sabin, input "<-","->", "<-", and then press confirm. (A, or X.) Then he'll do Pummel and the battle will end. :)

I actually tried to defeat him without using Blitz (that means i was running around, fighting monsters just to get a wee bit stronger :/)... but i didn't get much stronger at all :D , so i had to use the blitz.
(but i think you can beat him without it, no? ( although he has a lot of hp ) :confused:

At any time you can control Sabin in the battle, i guess. But first i cured him a couple of times. (Vargas did those nasty "Storm" attacks, that took a lot of hp, so ^^; )

I think he has too much HP to possibly defeat by normal means at that time. (So probably like 65,000, plus some other numbers. Or something.) :p

Hm...is that the battle before the last one with Ultros (the last one was together with Chupon, i think)? And since your mentioning an old man, i'm thinking you're talking about Strago.:D And Ultros should be quite easy, though :/ (it's been a while since i played it:p).

you are with banon, aren't you? first of all put him in the back row (damage is halved) and use his special ability to cure your party... with sabin use Blitz's Aurabolt or pummel, with edgar use autocrossbow or drill (if you have it)... it's a hard battle but it's not impossible

It shouldn't be hard at all, if you know what to do. Like suggested, but Banon in the back row. Have him use "Heal" every turn. Have Sabin do Blitzes, and have Terra use Fire. Have Edgar use his Tools. Have someone use a Potion or some other item to heal when necessary. His blinding attack shouldn't matter, as you should use everyone's special skills then attacking physically anyway. :)

If you are talking about the battle with ultros with banon in your party all you need to do is equip the true knight accessory to your character who has the highest hp and they will take the damage rather than banon. Then all you need to do is have banon heal everyone each turn and have everyone else attacking ultros and ultros will soon be toast.

The original final fantasy on normal mode had me tearing my hair out. Especially the final dungeon.
