In what respect? As a hero? 7/10. As a person, 6/10? For style? 10/10. For Individuality? 10/10. Anything else?

I guess overall...7.5/10. It was the combined character personalities and storyline that gave VII it's appeal.

as a side note: I would have rated Sephiroth better.

The aspect of Cloud's personality that captures my sympathy the most is how his actions are dominated by Sephiroth, that he sometimes acts wrongly against his will, and is terrified by it. Then we learn from Sephiroth that Cloud never had a past: he was simply a failed experiment, a rejected Sephiroth clone. This, of course, is not true, but you can sense his shame and misery near the end of the game.

That is why I like Cloud. He begins as a smug ex-Soldier, but finds himself at the mercy of Sephiroth's illusions and mind games.

Sephiroth may be my favorite character, but I feel the most sympathy for Cloud.

I think Cloud is about a 7 in the overall status of cool hero's in the ff world, but only a 4 in te chracter standing overall. there are a lot of cooler secondary characters that kick his ass.

Let me see I give him about a 6...only because he is so damn boring! All he does is "mope" he doens't have much of a character to him, but in a way he does like his past. But all he really is, is a pimp. Excuse me for saying so. "Oh Aerith...but Tifa, god do I love Tifa..." Now if we are talking about his looks....I would have to give him a 20. Iol
