Final Fantasy X: Dark Aeons in action!

Iv'e played this game maybe a grand total of 5 minutes...but these guys look tougher then hell.

I'm sure you've faced these enemies before if you have played the game all the way through but this Video (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=FMq-oHcPgqk&eurl=) makes me wonder if they are even possible to defeat.

But i was reading on this and it said if you get the aeons something takes htem over and they become evil, or something like that...i have no idea iv'e never even played this game. I just know that video mesmerized me. XD

There are plenty of ppl who have beaten the Dark Aeons *Cough* me *Cough*....its definately not impossible...u can even beat them when ur stats arent uber. altho it does become REALLY ez when ur stats are.

Darkkefka on YouTube has all the Dark Aeon vids (unless that's what you're linking to.)

They're only in the PAL and International versions of FFX. (Nothing for statesiders like me...) I've heard that maxing out all stats helps alot for the battles. (That's why they did 99,999 damage, of course.)

This is quite bizarre. I never found the Dark Aeons challenging, when I battled against them, they were a real dissapointment. I'ld rather go through defeating Penance and Nemesis, then countering those. :cool:

Actually, this is Final Fantasy X Japanese Translated version. So if you have the american version you did not have to do this i don't believe.

And the Dark Aeons are easy with the right armor, and maxed stats. With the exception of Luck. =\ Dark Shiva shows the Speed stats needs to be maxed. XD Penance is the luck of the draw. Just hope he doesn't get a turn with both arms.

Seems easy considering in that version of you game you can more than break the damage limit.

Yes, but you have to max your stats before you'll be able to even go near 99,999 damage, and expecially for these superbosses.

Not to mention getting either the Celestial Weapons or all the items required for 'Break Damage Limit', both of which are very tedious.

Tedius can't even begin to describe it. between riding that danged airship from place to place, dodging lightening hundreds of times in a row, and dodging birds on a chocobo, it's just an outright nasty task lol. you could make a separate game just for getting the celestrial weapons lol

griever, you must pick this game up. if not for the gameplay, for the story. it's beautiful. awesome gameplay, awesome fiends, awesome characters (annoying at times but awesome), awesome music...it's just awesome incase you haven't noticed :p

pretty much. if you know how to use your character's strengths really easily or if you just fill the sphere grid up, then Sin isn't a problem. i'll see what i can do about the Sin vid

lol, I attempted it. I got up to Inside of Sin and stopped. Rikku is ESSENTIAL. Without her, it's nearly impossible. That and Aurons Masamune, but that's for health purposes. All in all, it is pretty hard.

Fighting things that are at or above the lvl of your chars on "steroids"

Entrust, i'm pretty sure it transfer's the user's overdrive gauge to their choice of person. like if auron used entrust on lulu, he'd give lulu all of his overdrive, plus whatever she has

That would explain why in the videos of him defeating the aeons, he keeps using entrust with tidus on rikku, then using her hyper mighty g on the party. Unless that isn't a overdrive technique...i'm not sure i have only played this game about 5 mins.

And what exactly does that do..? Obviously it most likely recovers stamina but what do you need stamina for?

Stamina tablets doubles your max HP for one character, stamina tonics - for your whole party...mix stamina tonics w/other items (or maybe two of each) nets you the ultra null-all that Rikku keeps using (notice the orbs floating in circles around the characters after she uses it - that's fire/lightning/ice/water-null, making the characters impervious to those elements...it also raises all your stats.) If you are still thinking about getting the game...a few words of wisdom from someone who's invested 500+ hours of life into it: it's awesome :) I have the US version (which does not have the dark aeons or penance,) but nemesis (a created character) is a good challenge nontheless - albeit not nearly as challenging as penance seems. Also, if you want to get everything...or nearly everything it will take you close to 300 hours to level-up, get items, beat the toughest baddies, and see the totally awesome storyline. Hope that helps!

And yeah. The Golden Omega Weapon is so....awesome. :D It's in the monster arena by another name though. Omega Weapon in this game is a big fat...sissy. :rolleyes: And so is Ultima Weapon. Even if you do fight them in cool places.

And what version do you have Zeromus? The PAL version? If you do, Dark Aeons drop Ribbon armors. :D If you have the US version..well...It should have Ribbon in it. o.0

300 hours? whoa buddy. i'm towards the end of the game with three characters through two other character's sphere grids and everyone else into their second sphere grid with all aeons. i'm working on celestrial weapons (which doesn't take too long IMO) and i'm only in for about 58 hours. i'd say around 150 hours

but the Area Conquest monsters are stronger than 90% of the Dark Aeons IMO
but having a game file with 170+ hours and everyone being beefed i would have a reason to say so :)

Dark Shiva, Bahamut, and The Magus Sisters can outmatch alot of monsters in the Calm Lands Monster Arena. :D And Penance can OMGWTF own anything so fast. Ask my party members. :P

its not the flashes that get me. i can do that. but it was the fact that for the longest time i didn't know you can stand still and attract lightening. i'd always have to start over after finishing a battle and before the screen was on full display, there'd be a dim flash

Whenever i cant see the screen i just hit the button REALLY fast repeatedly until i see him dodge...so its all good :D

When I'm done with the faq, I'm totally going to continue with my NSG challenge. It looks so fun. Of course, it looks like I'm going to have to steal like a kleptomaniac...

And why would anyone take hundreds of hours when they can do the Don Tonberry trick? Granted, you have to farm more Power Spheres, but leveling up shouldn't take time at all. I guess the trick isn't that well-known?

Edit: I've never gotten that damn Venus Sigil. Gr. My best record is a pathetic 58 or something.

She's always in my starting party throughout the game. :D I switch her out with Yuna a LOT. To make sure both of them get their respective grids leveled. For Yunalesca. xD Reflect and Black Magic. :D Oh, and Holy.

i start the game off with lulu. she's kind of essential for the fiends with high defense. but as the game goes on it gets easier to level up yuna. then i fill yuna's section up and then use an friend sphere (i think) and transfer across the grid to lulu's location to learn the level 3 black magic spells. then lulu takes a back set and i use yuna for all magic. i also teach yuna steal and use about 3/4 way through her sphere grid.

If it comes down to it, purchase these four games.

FFX, Dark Cloud, Dark Cloud 2, and God of War.

Perfect RPG and Action cross. Keeps you occupied for a WHILE..

And yes. FFX is a reason to buy a PS2. But unless you want to blow a load of money, get the US version. :D

i sold my PS2 about 3 years ago. and then about two months ago i bought another one so i could play FFX again. yea, i play oher games, but i'll admit, FFX was the real reason I bought a PS2

Yes! It's one of my favorites! However, it isn't like the Final Fantasy games where you generally don't interact with the menu-based battles; it's an action RPG, you actually move around in battle and activate your skills, etc. I think it's very fun. It's the third* game in the Star Ocean series, and I think the other two games are very good as well. If you ever get a PS2, be sure to try it out; it's a Greatest Hits so it it's very cheap now. Once you become immersed in it, it can very well suck out hundreds of hours of your life. :p

*Fourth, I forgot about Blue Sphere.

I am late in the game and I am currently looking for all the al bhed primers and jecht speres. I have been back tracking and I have accidently stumbled across the dark aeons several. I have been pulverised by them each time. I wont challenge them till I get attack reels.

I managed to do dark shiva with zanmato but I never realised that yojimbo's attack would destroy one of these super bosses. It was a complete surprise when I paid him 10 000 gil and he sliced up shiva with it. I was looking at the screen with awe.

Its not fair the other versions round the world dont have these super bosses.
