i was quite disipointed with the number of weapons ff8 gave you i like the you gathering up items to create a weapon part but they could of given more weapons :mad: then :) also :confused:

That, along with many other aspects of FFVIII, was experimental. I personally had no problem with it. The focus was on Junctioning magic, now having dozens of sets of uber-equipment. That'd make the game even more broken.

Hands DOWN, the Gunblades are the most AMAZING weapons (Note: I have a good knowledge about weapon and gunblades exicted a few centuries ago as well)

well thts intence..........anyways why did no one ever think about the blade designs? i thought the whole idea of a shiney blue blade was just a star wars type thing and i didnt like it. the flame saber and even the twin lance/ punisher blades had awesome designs. but the only thing i think they should have done would have been to make the weapons a bit more 3-D i mean the handle was like a thin sheet of metal.........didnt look good to me.

My fav would have to be Lionheart. The whole thing just looks badass, and the limit break it gives you is just awesome.

I was fairly dissapointed with the weapon selection myself. I hated how you had to MAKE everything. Everyone's ultimate weapons, especially, were a pain in the ass. But, a lot of FF8 was weird like that, so the game experience was worth it.

As for the coolest weapon, I would say Lionheart was my favorite, just because you get Squall's ultimate Limit with it. =}

It was a novelty idea which was never repeated again unless you think of crystal chronicles but on the whole I quite liked the weapon system.

You could say that; however, due to all that was going on in between the storyline, and your situation in disc 4, maybe there just wasn't enough room for more types of weapons, if you know what I mean. If there could have been anything else, they should have tried adding armor and accessories, just like in any other Final Fantasy. But, oh wait, that would have ruined the whole idea of Square's little 'experiment', now wouldn't it? @_@

So in the end, you can claim that the whole system had it's faults, but I have coe to conclude that FF8 is special, in the unique, good way; in a way that for all those who HAVE played the game and enjoyed it, can think of it's differences from the other games as a sort of 'break' from the repetitive systems of all the other games. XP

But godammit, we're just talking about the freakin' weapons here, so if you want to say that there should've been more weapons, then I'll take your word for it and say that there should have been more weapons. XD

I would of liked to see more weapons for the characters but more should I say really hard to create weapons like really rare items needed to create them.

Making Quistis's ultimate weapon was an utter nightmare...but I can see what you're saying. It's more challenging to be able to make a few, hard to get weapons than it is to just go out and find a bunch of them easily.

But the game COULD have been more like FF7, where you had to search for all of the character's weapons and do certain tasks to get them.
