Gosh this is a hard one I enjoy all series of star trek, I am a hardcore fan of it.

I will pick Enterprise for now as that is the most recent one I have watched. Shame it only lasted for four series.

One of my fave characters from star trek is commander data he used to make me laugh when captain picard used to ask him something, and he would recite almost everything in his computer brains database to picard.

Picard then would say "thats enough commander data" in a sarcastic tone.

Picard is the best captain because he has the greatest leadership skills of all the others.

Oolyan
11-17-2006, 05:45 PM

Which ever one has Datta, Captian Pecard, Warf, and Jordy. Those are the best actors ever and that series Owned all just because of them.

Star Trek is my stuff. I mean I'm a geek when it comes to that. I have poster and everything.

Kirk set the bar for Starfleet captains, Picard I think is a great follow-up to captain Kirk. In my opinion Star Trek: The Original had a lot more action. "TNG" is more of a drama.

Oolyan

Well that is true but in next gen they wanted Picard a thinker because they wanted more diplomatic solutions.

I prefer next generation cause the special effects are better. When you get older you tend to notice when they land on a planet on the original series, the baclgrounds all look the same.

Axel

Even though that might be true, Star Trek did span in to a huge franchise, even with crappy props.

Oolyan

they also did the psoitions better not just science officer or captain but also 1st oficer, counsler, and tacticle oficer and security. also not so many people die and more people want to be red shirts

Oh true that, and I wasn't saying Picard is a bad follow-up at all, he's grand, but nothing compared to Kirk, you know, just,

if you haven't seen it yet, go see Star Trek: Wrath of Khan.

'nough said. ^^

No way picard is the best captain of all time

Axel

I respect both opinions, everyone has their own.

But still, Picard did turn into the Borg.

Anyone seen the pilot episodes of the original series? Those few episodes are rarely shown on t.v. Captain pike is the captain for those few episodes then kirk takes over after.

Oolyan
11-21-2006, 10:21 AM
i have never even heard of them but i bet jhimian's dad has seen them cause his dad is a huge trek fan

dappa

There is an episode in the original series where kirk and crew are stopped by aliens who would like to take kirks visitor 'captain pike' back to there home planet to live out his final days with them.

This particular episode makes references to those pilot episodes when pike was a younger man and met those aliens when he used to be a captain.

In the pilot episodes only spock is in the original crew.

When the pilot episodes were concluded kirk was the new captain and there was a new crew but with spock still in it.

This is good trivia in case you are ever asked this question in a quiz

"Who is the original captain"?

Very interesting, btw, my dad loves the original series but, he grew up watching TNG and Voyager.

Oolyan
11-26-2006, 03:51 PM
yeah his dad is a nerd just like all of us

Axel
11-29-2006, 03:36 PM
Not exactly a nerd, he is more of a "treky." He has a collection of Star Trek figures, ships, and other collectables. He is still trying to find an original Trek uniform.

I like star trek but not to the point where I'd get figures and uniforms, he is one true hardcore loyal fan if he has all that.

Axel
11-29-2006, 03:48 PM
He isn't really worried about collecting anymore, he is nearly 53 years old. Right now he just watches the re-runs and re-live them over and over again. Now he is into Star-Gate SG-1, and the new Battlestar Gallactica.

Axel

I'am more balanced on both. Star Wars was my first love. I enjoy watching the movies over and over again. It was the story i fell in love with. George Lucas did an excellent job of mixing mythology, romance, dramatic irony, and futuristic combat. I love Star Trek for the adventures. When I'm watch it, it is like opening a preasent on Christmas morning, you never know what you might get. May Gene Roddenberry rest in peace.
