Ok i have an mp3 its a Samsung and the model # is YP-U2JZW. I got on Samsung.com download center and found it went to driver and there was a word document that said something like "software not online yet" or something like that, what should i do? Should I just wait and check back or I have a 1 year warrenty should i return it and get another one?

What you could try and do is go on Google and type in the information and see what happens.

If nothing comes up after a while, then I'd do the warranty thing.

You're MP3 player should have come with a CD that installs the driver... Claim it back on warranty if you've already sussed out the samsung website, tell them you didn't get the CD, other wise you could even look at the website for your computer eg www.dell.com.au, you have accidentally uninstalled your usb driver ( did that once), you could also try reboot your PC...

This is cool, I'm actually doing a traineeship in IT so I know a fair bit so if you need help, give us a shout and I will see what I can do!

I've bought three different MP3 players, none of which work because the driver isn't installed. They all say that if you have Windows XP (I do), then you don't need to install a driver, and consequently they haven't provided one. I managed to find the appropriate driver for my current MP3 player but when I tried downloading it but the installation doesn't work, it gets stuck saying it's searching for software (or hardware, can't remember which).

The MP3 manufacturer has a troubleshooter which I used. It said I should have a "USB Mass Storage Device" under Universal Serial Bus controllers - I haven't got that. The troubleshooter didn't say how to solve that problem. Any suggestions on where I can get this device? I assume that's what's causing my problem...

Thank you!
