If One-Winged Angel were about you, what messages do you think it would convey?

I always liked the trumpet melody in the interlude. It gave me the biggest chill and has always been my favorite part of the song.

Its lyrics, "Burning inward with violent anger," "Fate, monstrous and empty," "Come, Glorious and Generous one, do not let me die," have touched me deeply and remind me of the suffering of the less fortunate. To help the less fortunate would seem to me the inspirational message of the song One-Winged Angel.

I'm keeping in mind, however, that the object of the game is to destroy Safer Sephiroth, who is not a generous character and has some awful attacks.

I invite you to share your thoughts. Is there anything good in One-Winged Angel?

o_O There's lyrics? All I could understand was 'SEPHIROTH!'

xD; J/K...I'm sure there are lyrics; but just the melody makes me excited. I remember playing to the end of the game the first time being like: @_@!

I also thought you might find it interesting that there is a book called Sepher Sephiroth and that it means Book of Numbers in Hebrew. That makes Sephiroth's name Hebrew for Numbers.

By the way, the song is in Latin.

It's actually pretty interesting.

If the song were about me, it would definitely say "generous".

No.

That song is so bad!

---------------
Burning inside
with violent anger,
Burning inside
with violent anger,
Sephiroth
Sephiroth

Fate - monstrous
and empty,
Fate - monstrous
and empty,

Come, come, O come,
do not let me die
Come, come, O come,
do not let me die
------------------

so please. Just cause they sing in a language you dont understand, does not necessary mean it is cool in a mysterious way.

Lately, I've been practicing it on the piano again. One of my concerns is that because I've had such a violent temper, devoting too much time to playing a song about anger and destruction might be a bad thing.

But I've put so much time into it...!

I believe One Winged Angel contains the message that Sephy is pretty much on his own against the world of people. One Wing means you fly on your own. As for Angel, I guess it's cause people think he died and they fear him for being a ghost, or it means it is he that shall bring salvation.

The song itself gives an eerie air, symbolizing that Sephy feels hatred and anger, therefor, he is dangerous, causing fear. The lyric, "Monstrous and empty" means he is dangerous and he feels no emotion. "Glorious and Generous one" obviously refers to a deity, meaning he is under influence of someone other than he, he will not change his mind about what he is doing. "do not let me die" means he is begging to stay alive at least until what he believes needs to be done is done.

I don't think it carries any inspirational value, but it does give off a creepy and ominous aura, though. Anything inspirational that could be drawn from that is Sephy will not give up, Persistence and Perserverance is a point in the song.

Another thing that can be drawn from this song is from the Angel part, it symbolizes eternity and immortality, meaning Sephy will not stop no matter what comes his way. He will come back from the dead to accomplish his mission.

Sorry to get all philosophical, but that's the major breakdown of the song. :P

Wow, your really smart to have thought that.

As for me, i can't think of any inspirational messages at the moment but i have to say I like the very start of it. Whenever I hear it, it just makes me feel like something bad is about to happen. I also like the part where it keeps repeating itself. I dunno what it says. I think it might be "Sephiroth" (Not the chorus part). But i'll find out anyway.

Well, thank you. :)

But a person's smarts aren't based on what he says or how, but if he knows what the devil he's talking about. lol
