I'm putting this up here so those of you who don't read the feedback forum a lot have the chance to have your say about it.

Basically we are looking for ideas for new rank/member titles. Instead of the usual default vb3 ones like member, senior member ect, I was thinking we could have 10 to 15 ranks with a Final Fantasy twist such as....

Chocobo jockey
Moogle farmer
Highwind pilot ect.

Of course my examples are pretty crappy, except maybe Chocobo jockey, I like that one :D.

This thread is so you can all give us your ideas for the new ranks. If we get lots of them, I will put up polls and we can all decide which ones are the best ones to use. So fire away and let us know what you can come up with :).

erm..i came up with these right now...most of them our creature names, someones probably thought of them before...theyre top to bottom , lowest to highest rank..
Chocobo
Moogle
Zuu
Cactuar
Tonberry
Behemoth
Leviathan
Bahamut
Ultima Weapon
...just some powerful monsters/summons/creatures i thought of.

another idea is to rank people by the different chocobos in ff7 :) there wouldnt be as many ranks though...but thatd be fun!

Yeah, I know about the monster names and if we can find quirky and funny ways of using them it would be great :).

Hmm, perhaps we can use your list to think up some more. What we are really looking for is something along the lines of the names we used on RandomGames (http://www.randomgames.com/forum/showpost.php?p=3813&postcount=2) but without the "newbie" type names. Lets face it, those sort of names are common on forums, and I want FFnet to be unique. The second half of that list incorporates bits and pieces of the arcade games on the site. What I'm looking for is the same sort of thing, but using bits and pieces of Final Fantasy instead :D.

we have to use moogles and chocobos. It just wouldn't be an ff forum without it! Maybe Moogle, Chocobo, and then classes like Thief, Mage, etc...

I like the different Jobs as ranks, and we could even start at moogle. :)

Thumbs up to that idea.

Ok then. How about the following...

T-Rex Snack - 0 to 20 posts
Vivi's Minder - 21 to 50 posts
Moogle Farmer - 51 to 100 posts
Cactuar Thorn - 101 to 200 posts
Highwind Pilot - 201 to 300 posts
Chocobo Jockey - 301 to 500 posts
Gunblade Expert - 501 to 700 posts
Bahamut's Rider - 701 to 1000 posts
Master Thief - 1001 to 1500 posts
Super Summoner - 1501 to 2000 posts

What do you all think of these?

More can be added at any time when people's post counts start creeping up towards 2000 posts. Let me know how you feel about these and if there are no major objections, I'll put them up in a few days :).

Not sure about the last 3, especially Super Summoner, the rest sounds good to me though..

Fair enough Shadowheart. I wasn't too sure with super summoner myself but just wanted to use the word "summoner" in some way :D.

A few more possibilities....

Card Shark
Hippaul Racer
Seifer's Sidekick
Shiva's Icicle
Doomtrain Engineer
Ifrit's Flame
Odin's Sword
Ramuh's Thunderbolt

Arkacia
09-06-2005, 04:21 PM
Not bad at all Spiff. Do you think we should separate the two highwind ranks though?

Maybe put "Gunblade Expert" in between them so people get a total change of title for 300 posts :).

They look good :).

If no-one else has any objections over the next couple of days, I'll use the list as is. Thanks for your input on this Spiff, and all others who answered this thread :).

Hmmm, maybe we can create our own customer titles and keep the senior member ones too? What do you think about that?

Arkacia
09-06-2005, 08:11 PM
Custom titles are a separate thing as far as I know and its up to the site admin to decide if he wants to allow members to have them. You'd need to ask Shaggy about that :).

We want to jazz up the rank titles to make it more interesting and give people more ranks than the standard vb3 trio. The new titles will be more fun than just boring old "member", "senior member" ect ;).

um...can we change t-rex to t-rexuar? unless thats just how you guys write them as...just sos ya know...oh, and can we change "seifer's sidekick" to "sorceress knight"? (i dont know, but i wouldnt want to be seifers sidekick, hes not very nice...) plus, i just think sorceress knight sounds better :p plus, if we could add in "fully equipped onion kid", that would be super! :D

on other message boards I've joined, people have had 10s of thousands. One person had 40,000

ShadowHeart

Because those forums have been around for years probably, this one was started less than a year ago afaik :)

Arkacia

Very true Shadowheart. On the NationStates forum its not unusual to see posters with between 5,000 and 10,000 posts, some have even more.

2,000 isn't that many when you've been on a board for a while. I have over 1,000 on RandomGames and nearly 2,500 on another site. It just depends on how long you have been registered and how busy the boards are :).

There are custom ones? What are they? Also, I think that it's possible to get up to 2000 in a year if you have the motivation. 3000 if you're crazy. 4000 if this is truly the only part of your life. 5000....you have no life.

I believe that 10,000 is possible - as long as you don't quit. I've been an ardent FF fan since the release of FFVI. (I had to go back and play FFII.) But seriously, if you quit, you will never attain anything in life - whether it be finishing a difficult game, becomming financially independent - which I can help people living in the U.S. with, or what have you. SO DON'T QUIT!!!

I have the same question.

It's Gil alright!

Oh, and BUMP so that the new Members know about the custom title changes :)

Sorry for double posting but... don't you think that it's time to make some more Custom Titles?

People have reached 2000 Posts (Just look at Zeromus_X, Hydra, Kat...) and many other are almost there!

Hydra
09-27-2006, 04:48 PM
Not really. People are more interested in making custom ones than getting up to 2,000 without changing it to see what happens. :D

John Smith
09-27-2006, 07:57 PM
Lol. I was interested in seeing Kat reach 2001 Posts to see what would happen too :D:D:D

I will look at putting some more up sooner or later.

Have a fulltime job now, so don't have as much time for internet stuff as I used to. Have just finished a 7 day straight stint today.

Am also working on a site of my own, that I won't really go into here and now because it will probably take forever to get anything worth showing off up and open. Will try and get some work done on this site this weekend.

I got a question!

If new Custom Titles get implemented, would they all be after "Master Summoner" or before and after it?

Arkacia
10-17-2006, 06:46 PM
They would be after, to show the higher ranks. It would be more trouble, and work, than it was worth to change the whole lot around :).
