congrats. I just got to level 11 yesterday for the ffnet rpg hack. That, and got a broadsword. Way better than the mage masher I was using. Working on level 12 and 500 gil for a healing spell.

What? Also, where is this place? I don't think I'm there yet. Also, I am drawing closer to level 12 for the RPG hack.

Zeromus_X

by the "bouncy balls" he meant the movers. they give 2400 ap, but i believe they have to all be killed in a few turns...at least they are in ff5 they give a ton of ap in every ff game theyve been in. (since 5.) anyhoo, spiff, the magic pots im talking about, you must give an elixir to them. but, two of them (provided you gave two of them an elixir) give 18000 exp and 2000 ap. (if im not mistaken). so...if you use w item to clone, you have an infinite level building area. :D just for anyones reference.

the area with movers and magic pots is the place where you first went to the north crater, when the weapons were unleashed. (it has the same music, at any rate, and it looks the same, so...) when you get to the path where you can go up or down, theres a door on the bottom....its kinda hard to see. (does anyone have a picture? ) a few of my friends were amazed to see i got to the 70s in a day ;) i made a save point there just for leveling :D

i believe movers appear randomly in other areas of the northern cave, but probably very rarely. i dont know for sure though...

bleh, thats the info on movers and magic jars :)

Not really, you can kill them all with a single 4x Cut in your first turn if you're lucky with target selection and have high enough Attack :)

And yeah, it's a great place to level up and master materias. I had all my characters at level 99 and had mastered in total over 200 materias (desirable materias like Counter, Magic Counter, Mime and more 5+ times). I can't even fit all my mastered materias on the materia screen, I need to have some equipped at all times! I used Exp Plus on everyone (all mastered after a while so they gave 2x experience to everyone) and equipped Double/Triple growth weapons to speed it up materia mastering, but I still did all that in less than 15 hours. And no, it wasn't actually boring.. having materias and characters level up after nearly every battle is quite satisfactory :p

since ive been mastering classes in ff5, ive been praying to amano for those "magic bouncy balls" to appear.(100,000 gil + 199 ap...) in ff5, if you dont kill them in like, 3 rounds, the battle ends automatically...i guess it doesnt do that in 7  . i pray for the magic pots in 7 :D :p

and yes...leveling up is a good feeling . like when i leveled shadow to 99 in ff6! i love the dinosaur forest!! with a ribbon and that illumina blade, plus interceptor "intercepting" pretty much every other move, it wasnt long before he got there. (it was just him alone with an exp. egg) i dont know, but does interceptor appear more the more levels shadow is? or is it completely random? just curious...

oh yeah, duh, offering was on him too...gotta have offering! :)

Level 12 for the rpg hack. Also, almost level 50 in FFIX by fighting Gimme Cats (weak, with about 4000 gil per battle) and Grand Dragons (tons of gil, tons of exp, tons of damage to me). I think I'm level 45 right now. I usually level up after every battle with the Grand Dragons.

Zeromus_X

however, i dont remember what monster has that skill...does anyone else know? :p

yay!! just dont forget to buy the one of a kind weapons, etc in bran bal!
also, equip the level up and ability up abilities. those really help you level up faster. and, if you have it, the yellow scarf teaches the millionaire ability, which doubles your earned gil. (but i think only quina can use equip millionaire)

the monsters in pandaemonium give alot of exp/ap.(at least, i remember them giving alot.)

but...2 hours? it shouldnt take that long! then again, i dont time myself...but, the grand dragons, and yans(if your brave enough) give ALOT of exp. the way i kill the yans is equipping zidane with the masamune, then using soul blade, which will cast condemned on them. then, just wait for the timer to run out, and youve got one dead yan! :D just hope they dont sneeze ya though...

but yes, i never spent too much time in terra, i wanted to rush through the story as quickly as possible. so...dont miss out like i did :p

I'm recycling through my FF games every time I beat one - I lent my best friend FFV and I'm playing FFVII through again. I made level 46 with Cloud after only 20+ hours of gameplay. Moved onto disk 2 about an hour back and am just having a field day with the storyline.

This has to be one of the most (if not THE most) detailed and intricate storylines in the series. Raises a lot of questions playing back through. For instance - Cloud is actually Cloud right? I mean, he had a lot of breakdowns along the way and was confused with being a Sephiroth clone, but in actuallity, he really really is him... right?

yes, he is the actual cloud. (please mark spoilers next time ^^;; )

i just started a new game on mother 2 (earthbound) . i got to master belch, and this annoying burping noise (get the pun?) is made every time he attacks. but i didnt know you could use the fly trap honey on him; i didnt know it paralyzed him most of the battle. (so he doesnt call on a bunch of flunkies.) ness learned psi rockin b, but i named it shock, so its "PSI Shock", which sounds awesome! it also does alot...cant wait till i get psi rockin omega, my friend beat the game, and that attack does ALOT.

and....mr. saturn(s) talk weird...youll know what i mean if youve played the game before... :D

just sleep and homework then...*sniff* and after i just started playing ffVII again  but, im going to get a ps2 for X-mas! i must (absolutely) get ffX and dq VIII with it...two must have rpgs! maybe star-ocean too...(till the end of time, my friends go on and on about it...)

and, about SO, my friend got angry because he forged a weapon stronger than the laser weapon...i dunno, but if i made a weapon on accident thats stronger than the strongest weapon in the game, id be happy! (even the racoon boy was doing alot of damage...)

yes, im a little behind the times. but ive always wanted to play ffX! maybe ffXII, but i suck at real time rpgs...sigh...i hope itll be good. at least nomuras not the art director. (isnt it naora now? still no amano...)

After starting FF7 over again a week ago I'm at the part in Disc. 2 were you go to REDXIII's grandpa (Whatever that huge name is) to ask for advice and you take him to the City of the Ancients. I'm taking a break from the plot to catch the chocobos I need to get a Gold chocobo in preparation for Disk 3. Also in One hr. and 18min. I was able to morph enoff creatures into 25 power sources, 27 guard sources, 3 magic sources, 10 luck sources, and 6 speed sources. Cloud is insanly strong now for being at level 56. :D

Tiny Bronco

The point is that Square didn't feel like adding an extra place to stick the 100 digit in. I don't know why. Its the same with HP and the damage limit. Why not make it go to 10,000 HP instead of 9999. Its only 1 more HP. The reason is that back then It was harder to create soft-ware to make the digits go higher. They have to make the counter 5 digits instead of four.

Yeah but then they'd make max damage/HP 99,999(like in FFX) Then why not one more? Pretty soon they would raise it to, 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,99,999,99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,9 99,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999,999 ,999,999,999,999

okay...well...this thread is about what you've accomplished in rpgs lately, like how far you've gotten, what youve beaten etc, so lets just stay on topic okay? thanks! :)

as for me, ive beaten Star Ocean Till the End of Time on Earth mode, and, now that i know what to do , i'm playing it in galaxy mode. (thanks to event skip, i've gotten to the second disc in two days.) i've gotten enough battle trophies to have 2-player costumes (arbel's is pretty cool, so is fate's, nel's, and maria's.)

i've actually gotten alot of them on accident, like "defeat so-and so in one minute" and "defeat so-and-so w/out taking damage" at the same time! though i only beat crosell in one minute though.

unfortunately, none of you may not know what the heck i'm talking about , so i'll stop rambling now :D

Yeah, I know, no updates for awhile. I moved the thread to Off-Topic, since it's not really an RP-Story.

Anyway, I'm at the end of Kingdom Hearts II. I don't want to finish it, I'm afraid of what the ending will be like! (Even if the final dungeon is really cool lookin'.) I guess I'll just die trying to beat Sephiroth...about sixty more times.

Seriously. 15 Health Bars?

Well actually, here's a Holystar video of someone beating Sephiroth:

*Uses Fresh Sage on thread*

This must be my...fifth? time through Star Ocean: Till the End of Time. Unfortunately, I'm too much of a wimp to play on Universe mode, but Galaxy doesn't seem all that difficult. =/ Ah well. I've been collecting all the 'Beat so-and-so in one minute/ w/o taking damage' trophies as well as others I just got on accident. Up to 50% in the BTs! I now have 3P costumes, though the only worthwhile one is Fate's that looks like Claude. Other than that...I prefer the 2P costumes I've gotten.

I beat Sephiroth a long time ago, and played a new game on Proud Mode. I want to try and beat Sephiroth at the lowest level possible on Proud Mode when I get to him, though I'm all burned out on KHII as it is. Maybe I'll pick it up again some other time.

Although, in good news, money! I'm going to try to get Valkyrie Profile, and if I have enough, Star Ocean: The Second Story. I'll be able to die happily then. :P

Edit: How the hell do I beat the rocket freak and the guy with purple lip gloss in under a minute...ugh. I even have Dimension Door already. :(

Zeromus_X
05-30-2006, 01:48 AM
Yay! Now have all the main-game 1 minute/w/o damage trophies. Now I'm in Sphere Company again, and I'm going to get the no damage/defeat in 10 minutes Lenneth trophy. (I love Blazing Pendant.)

Finished Valkyrie Profile. Now I have to beat Iseria Queen like three more times to get the Angel Slayer, and collect the funny Books of Riddles.

"You are still doing this? Unlike Star Ocean, you can only get to Level 99..."

"I can't wait for Dragon Quest VII to come out..."

"You've beaten the game four times? You really must find something else to do.."

Unfortunately, I must beat the game yet again to get the A Ending, and max out my characters, etc, then we should be done with Valkyrie Profile.

Hmm..I should totally get Star Ocean: The Second Story and try beating the final boss without the Limiter thingy on. (I hear he's the ultimate challenge, that way.)

I love tri-Ace.

ShadowHeart
05-31-2006, 06:21 PM
Hm, well I haven't tried the super bosses of Star Ocean 3, but I can personally vouch for that Indalecio Limiter Off and Iselia Queen in Star Ocean 2 are very very very difficult. On Earth mode. There is an easier version of Iselia Queen that you face at the end of the Cave of Trials who only has 1 million HP and doesn't hit as hard, I've beaten that, but I fall short on the real Iselia Queen and Indalecio Limiter Off. I haven't really tried that hard to beat them, only ever leveled as high as levels ~180 or so, I guess I'm too scared to try my best and then fail :)

On a side note, I did beat Indalecio Limiter Off and Iselia Queen on Universe mode... but that was of course using the Bloody Armor trick (you wont take any damage from enemies while wearing them, but your life is sucked out fast, you need to heal constantly), so it doesn't count. It was just for a laugh :p

Zeromus_X

Yay! You replied. And I was wondering about that Bloody Armour, you mentioned it a long time ago. I'm so glad SO2 isn't very expensive, I need to get a copy too.

And you should give the SO3 optionals a shot someday Shadow! (Eek, alliteration.) They'll definitely give you a run for your money, well, without tricks. (Which...seems alot like your trick for SO2.) There's even the spiffy essentially 111 floor bonus dungeon, along with the standard 'Cave of Trials' dungeon. And a dungeon put in the Director's Cut (which english versions of the game pretty much are), which has a special colour puzzle and bosses depending on the ending you get. It's really quite fun, and challenging.

Chibi Lenneth = cuteness. :D

Well. I just entered the Northern Crater to get the goodies down there. And some Magic Pots! Now I'm half way through it and I've gone up 8 levels and almost all of my equiped materia has gained a star! Emerald'll be easy after this! :p

Also I found a "new materia" meaning one that I didn't know exsisted. Its a Counter Materia except it is not a purple materia. It's blue! It lets you counter with anything so now If something attacks me I hit back with a Bahamut Zero automatically! I've never found it before because its hidden in a very stricky spot. In the room where you get W-Magic there is a bright light in the center. Walk around until you get to the South edge of the light and hit circle. Now you have a very cool counter materia.

Yay! Well, now that we ordered SO2, and found Final Fantasy Tactics (albeit in a cracked case), we should be busy. Still haven't gotten to Lenneth again yet. But I saved over the file with the Metal Pipe. xD I was just too lazy to go beat up Albel eight more times I suppose. (And the refining...ugh.) Next game's team: Maria/Nel/Peppita or maybe Roger. I never use Souffle or Roger, and I want to try out different teams. (I'll probably never use Adray though. Anyone slower than Maria when they have Bunny Shoes on isn't worth using. ><; )

Yay! I love Hamedo.

Yay again! It's here! I've been playing it non-stop, and other than the rather annoying voice-acting*, it's very fun. *Gets Ashton*

Heh, yeah the voice acting can be pretty damn poor at times (and downright annoying in some cases, like with Precis..), but it didn't bother me too much. At least it's only in the battles, and not in all dialogue :)

Seeing as I just got stuck in a dungeon anyway...*tries to get Precis*

Strangely, and annoying "I'm 17 but I sound like a five-year old" anime stereotype doesn't bug me as much as the others.

Ashton sounds okay...but he sounds kinda like Luke Skywalker sometimes. (I don't know either.)

Rena: see above.

Bowman: Ew.

Claude: Meh. He sounds downright retarded sometimes, but I can live with it.

Precis: Yet to be heard. Will prepare for the worst.

Leon: Huh? Do all Kitty spellcasters sound like robots?

Chisato: I look forward to her voice. ("And that's how the monsters ceased to exist!" xD)

Opera and Ernest: Apparently I can't get them in this playthrough. It was worth it, I mean, it's Ashton!

Noel: Don't have him yet. But he's also a kitty! I think...

Celine: Heh, this one is actually alright. Although you'd think she's sound like some New-Yorker or something ("Darling!"). Some of her spells get repetitive when cast every two seconds. (Disables all but Energy Arrow)

Dias: I think I have to choose Rena to get him, but from what I heard, he sounds all right.

Which reminds me...

"Thank you. You were more than I expected."

"But you killed me in three successive attacks!"

"Maybe we will see eachother again..."

"Were you even listening?!"

I think that's all the main characters...I think.

Still, I won't let the annoying voice acting get in the way of enjoying the game, even if I just figured out how to invent items yesterday. (_L_; ) Heh, and this funny bug where I kept jumping through the battle field over and over again. xD Luckily, I just waited and it stopped. That was weird.

You see kids, Chisato is so powerful, she knows a style of martial arts that doesn't even exist on her planet! Amazing!

I had to restart from my Eluria Tower save to continue, because I got stuck on the Field of Power. (Not doing that again until later...) My ATK sucked and was barely over 1000, so there just wasn't a way to win. (Ran out of healing items, etc...)

So...gonna level up more! *gets Noel and Chisato again*

I'm also never letting Chisato run out of MP....*shudders* But wow, her KM's hit alot. 0_o;

Try and get all the 'Ultimate' Weapons for each character, even though it is tough. (Joseph has the Bracer, Scott has the Red Rose, etc.). You have to fight a 'Dead' version of each Pandaemonium Boss, but it's worth it. (Although, if you beat Ultima Weapon, you have the patience to do anything probably. :p )

Okay, we finally got past the three Wise Men at the entrance. That was pretty irritating. So I just put Claude in the S Rank Duel Arena, and used Sword Bomber to snipe at the enemies tougher than him. And...we got Mirror Slice! It kicks utter ass! I still won't use it on tough enemies up close, they have status effects often...

I think we'll be okay for the final dungeon...I hope.

And, no as it turns out.

"SPICULE!! iT's SO HOT oH HO HOHO!" 0_o;

Me: "SHUT UUUUUP!!"

Unfortunately, there is no attack called 'shut up'. Only my team, dying by constant spiculing, mind/blood sucking, and being turned to stone...so...

The one solution to every RPG: Level up! (Well, except FFVIII, but that was an exception.) I'm going to beat up those things that give 40,000 Exp. (With being split between four people, that is.)

What the hell is a 'spicule' anyway? And are the final bosses so frustrating? And this is just the normal mode...><;

ShadowHeart

And...we got Mirror Slice! It kicks utter ass!
Yeah it's great.. until you get to higher difficulties and/or Cave of Trials where enemies will tend to block one the first few hits and thus causing the whole attack to fail. You'll understand what I mean if you see it being blocked mid-execution. Very annoying. Works absolutely great in Eartj mode and for the normal game :)

And you're far from the first to have troubles with Spicule lol. I had huge problems with that on my first time through as well. Took many tries before I beat them, after scrounching up as much fire resistance as I could possible get my hands on with the limited item creation knowledge I had then :)

The next (and 2nd to last) boss after Vesper and Decus is a lot easier IMO. Indalecio is not to be laughed at, even with his limiter on and on Earth mode. I'm not sure I should spoil you, but he has some very hard hitting spells. I was continuously wiped out by his Earthquake spell (hitting the entire party for 9999 damage and I had nothing with Earth resistance, basically) on my first game. And that's far from the worst thing he can do. You have been warned :)

Zeromus_X
06-13-2006, 07:27 PM
Yeah, I only use it when I know I can wipe out the enemy.

Claude: Mirror- *tink*

Claude: Mirror Sli- *tink*

Claude: *sigh*

*normal attack*

Meh. I still have Sword Bomber or Head Splitter on the other button, so I can 'snipe' at the enemies. It helped out in the battle arena.

Heh, this was funny. I'm trying to get through the survival match, but on match 30 (or 29, around there), I get swallowed by the blue worm thing that can swallow your characters. (As I found out....several times.) So, I try again. Get swallowed. Try again. Get swallowed. Try again. Infamous 'battle ends and freezes game' glitch occurs. So then I'm like "okay...I'm going to....do something else now...."

"SPICULE!!"

"SHUT UP AND DIE!"

0_o;

And yeah, Indy/Gabriel/final boss is pretty difficult. I don't want to know how tough he is 'unlimited'. xD Cyril was a cakewalk compared to those two.

SO3 is for wimps.

I...don't want to know how hard the other difficulty levels are.

My favourite KM with Claude is actually Ripper Blast. It may not seem like the best thing ever when you first get it.. but if you build up the proficiency to max it out, it'll be ridicolously effective. IMHO the most effective KM he has in the end. There are 2 versions of it, a long range version that shoots rocks up from the ground in multiple directions sort of forming a half-circle in the direction Claude is facing (if you understand what I mean), and a short range that just shoots up rocks in a straight line from Claude. The long range version at maximum proficiency is amazing. It will fill nearly the whole screen with rocks (well it'll feel like it) hitting all or almost all enemies multiple times (unless they are way too far away, like on the other side of the battlefield).

I like to start battles with the long range version at the one point on the battlefield where I'll hit as many enemies as possible and then move into melee combat with regular attacks and/or close range KMs. Or I'll just keep smashing the screen with the long range version until it's wiped clean. You may have to move back a bit between executions though, unless the rocks push the enemies back.

Another good thing with it is that the multi-hits of the rocks tend to strike enemies all at once or at least extremely rapidly, often causing them to peep (see stars, unable to move for a short bit, stunned :P). A stunlocked enemy is a prime target for continuous Ripper Blasting, short range or long range doesn't matter ;)

It may cost a fair bit of MP, especially when you've just got it, but if you're anything like me it'll be very much worth the effort of building it up.. besides, as you power up you'll start recovering more and more MP after each battle (especially if wearing Bunny Shoes), eliminating most or all of the MP problem.

I could go on about my love for that KM, but I'll stop rambling about it now :D

Those eating worm monsters are damn annoying, yes. The only thing you can do to defend yourself is raise your defense. If you reach the point where your defense is so high that they'll do 0 damage to you with a normal attack, it will also be impossible for them to swallow you. The point where the blue worm monster you speak of will be unable to damage/eat you is somewhere between 800 and 900 defense. I know I figured this out at one point a long time ago, but I can't remember it now. I think it's in the lower half of the 800-900 range. On Earth mode of course. I'm not sure it's even possible to get high enough defense on Galaxy/Universe mode.. you just have to keep your distance then. Long range Rippler Blast or Dragon Howl should work nicely for that, do not even think about using close-range attacks. And Sword Bomber doesn't work well for that despite being ranged because it's not long enough range or quick enough, the blue worm is too fast. For example.

Zeromus_X
06-14-2006, 08:12 PM
Oh! I see. That's good then. Actually, I did get past the worm. (Just....hit it two times. ><; ), but the 50th match (Phoenix, which is some bonus boss. Not good.) killed me. I've thought of doing 'Bloody Armour Chisato with the Weird Slayer', but I don't know if that would be effective or not. (Or rather cheap. :P)

I've heard good things about Ripper Blast, but I never used it because I only got to use it at short range. xD I guess I'll try powering it up then.

Another thing....do you use Chisato? Because I do, and she only uses her first KM, Twister, which is pretty awesome. But I don't know if that'll be okay, or she should use another KM. Most of her other ones have pretty long preparation time (Like....Preparation), so I just only give her Twister.

Meh. Maybe RB will be good for killing things I shouldn't be fighting yet. Though I could just level up with those Funny Thieves.

The 50th survial battle is a random monster that can appear on the last floor of the Cave of Trials, not a boss. Wonderful for leveling up, because it gives huge amounts of exp. Try using Dragon Howl on it repeatedly. Repeated Dragon Howl with not a split second of wait between executions = you'll most likely win. May take a long time but you will. Try it at least :) The only time I use Dragon Howl is basically against those huge metallic birds.

I have to run, I'll post more later :)

Zeromus_X
06-15-2006, 05:20 AM
Oh, so the last match isn't fixed. Well, I guess that's good...and it was 'giant mechanical bird' type monster. :p

And...I took your advice. It really does look like it takes up the whole field. xD I guess I'll just...use that. It seems alot better than Sword Bomber.

Of course, Claude's at level 130 something now, so...I guess it'll be easier. :P As long as Gabriel Celeste isn't the 50th match. :/

I've replaced Celine with Ashton...because Ashton is funny, and mages are starting to suck. Big time. I'm tired of watching 20-minute lightshows that do crappy amounts of damage. So...yeah.

Thanks for all your advice so far. xD

ShadowHeart
06-17-2006, 07:44 AM
You misunderstood me.. the 50th match is always Hell Servant (I think that's what that huge metallic bird is called), but the Hell Servant is just a random enemy on the last floor of the Cave of Trials (and amazing to level up against down there, along with the other monsters down there, only problem is the lack of a save point hehe :P). Sorry for the confusion :)

Yeah, mages do start to suck towards end game when speaking of damage. They are still useful for something though.. which is interruption. A spell that damages all enemies has a chance of interrupting any and all enemies.. especially mages that are in the midst of casting a spell. Imagine purposely interrupting a silly mage with REALLY powerful spells by continuously casting something silly like Starlight! Very fast spell (to cast and to execute) and hits all enemies. Damage sucks, but in that case you won't care about that anyway. Not sure how that works against Indalecio though. You can interrupt Iselia Queen by using spells, but she has been programmed to randomly retaliate against that in a somewhat nasty and irritating way. Can't remember if Indalecio has something like that though.

As for Chisato. I've used her numerous times, she can be amazing :) Her only problem would be a lack of high defense, and perhaps really strong attack power, but her KMs more than makes up for that I think. I tend to try to use different combinations of characters every time I play (which is starting to get difficult by now.. finished the game nearly 10 times already..), and I like many of the characters in their own ways. The only one I really don't like is Noel, but I still use him to collect voice samples (more voice samples = locks up higher difficulty modes, plus it's fun trying to complete the image on the voice collection screen ;))

Zeromus_X
06-17-2006, 08:08 AM
Oh! Heh, now I understand. :p

Yeah, that's one thing Celine has helped with alot from time to time. (Who is now replaced by Ashton...also with funny voice samples. xD) Of course, I do get tired of watching 20-minute light shows 4 times every battle. :/ (Case in point: Eden.) Of course, I could put Rena to work with 'Light Cross' (short animation, so no hassle.)

Still, I completed the CoT with some ease. Unfortunately, it was just KMing the bosses until they died, which wasn't too challenging...hopefully the higher difficulties are better than that. :D

About the Voice Collection...what image is made out? I can make out the word 'Filia' (which bears signifigance, plot-wise. xD), but that's all I can make out. (I got most of the bottom and top filled in, the middle is still a grid however. :p I've also read it's actually impossible to fill it in entirely (like, Leon can't cast a certain spell, or yell out 'Dias!' when Dias dies, etc.) Weird programmers.

Of course, I'm sure you've unlocked everything, haven't you SH? (10+times = alot of voices), what are all the things that are unlockable? Is it just the higher difficulties and the sound test?

ShadowHeart
06-17-2006, 02:18 PM
It's a picture of Filia.

Of course, I'm sure you've unlocked everything, haven't you SH? (10+times = alot of voices), what are all the things that are unlockable? Is it just the higher difficulties and the sound test?
Yeah. Can't remember the exact % of voice samples you need to unlock stuff, but it's Galaxy first, then Universe, then sound thingie. I've actually never got to sound test (I lost my saves at one point, so I don't have all 10 games still).

The CoT is not too difficult, no, I guess (if you know what you're doing and isn't underleveled).. save for the floor with Funny Thieves Lv99, if you get back attacked by a large group of them you're basically done for, and I think it's the 11th or 12th floor that has rooms that hurt your HP or MP, the enemies there, mostly the robot dog things that hurts your HP (there is another kind that only damage your MP), have been a pain a few times.

If you're going to try Galaxy or Universe mode.. the first boss (Alen Tax) will be extremely difficult if you play Rena's scenario, because Claude wont have any time to level up and can basically be killed by the boss in 2-3 hits or so. Frustrating, but not impossible :)

Wow...can't believe no one's posted here in - uh...forever!

Anyway I just beat Mt. Gulg in FF1. I am just amazed at the quality of this game! Although it is very similar to the DQ series at that time, I think it surpasses them in most aspects! I'm playing on normal mode...those minimal spell casts really make you conserve MP and SPEND $$$ on Potions. If you don't have a White Mage, you can't use Life! There are no phoenix downs!!! WOW!

yeah that thingy with the minimal spell casts is what made the game so unforgiving, but I used to use weapon that had spells in them to defeat alot of my enemies.
