(please dont confuse with the other "behind the wheel" thread)

so...what do you think about driving? (what i mean is, is driving really benificial to you?) i guess it depends on how often you travel. i just use the bus, that works out well for me.

then again, ive never really travelled alot so...

and all the scary people driving makes me wonder if its even worth it to learn how...^^;;

I love driving, it takes me twelve minutes to walk to the corner store and there's nothing else for three miles so I kind of need a car. I could take the bus but it doesn't come by a lot.

Bike is cool, but that's just 'cause I can't drive. For long distance, by bus. If no bus is available, then I guess car.

I use a bike in the summer; although it may take a bit longer, I enjoy the ride. But I can't ride a bike in the winter when it's -10 F (-23 C) with a wind chill making it feel like it's -40.

before i made my driving license i had no interest at all in cars or driving. but now i can't imagine living without a car.

I have a mixed view.

I use my vehicle everyday, but I'm not dependant on it - I found that out this summer when one of those people from the other driving blog hit me and put me out of commission for three months. I had to ride my bike everywhere. Work was especially fun - 10 miles one-way. Had to go to the local GNC and fuel up on Carbs to make it, but man did I get in great shape!

Now that I have my car back, and since it IS wintertime I suppose it's a great resourse. But I could take a bus or train - just not as time efficient. I love the freedom of being able to get into my car and drive to the ocean if I really wanted to.

Hope you enjoyed reading this young man's experience.

that's the problem that i can't get anywhere without my car. i'm living in a small village and although we have bus AND train the connections are really bad. if i tried to get to work by train it would take me 2,5 hours instead of 45 minutes by car. - ok, it's over 40 kilometers, so forget the bike ^^
btw, i'm so glad that my breakes will get fixed on monday!!!

I cant drive and I dont think I ever will learn. I ride everywhere in my hometown. I am nervous doing that sometimes because of all the nutters who drive like lunatics on the main road. I couldn't see myself driving amongst these people.
