Witch one is better?

Tiny Bronco

I'm just saying Playstation cause thats what i have. Also the controls are more smooth with the playstation controller instead of tapping keys. The Turbo controller rocks too and i don't think you can use that option with a PC.

I was just wondering because I don't know witch one to buy.

I don't think it'll really matter unless u want to use hacked files to do weird stuff in the game.

well, from what ive heard, ffvii for pc has alot of errors, especially for people that use windows xp. i also know that it uses midi files instead of the music on the ps, so OWA wont have voices  :(

on the plus side, you can use jenova to hack into the program (like my gf likes to do...) and get everyone maxes out and all. (not to mention put a certain flower girl back into your party :) )

id get the ps version. but if you like cheating, you can get the pc version :p

They also say the PC version is VERY rare, but has good graphics.

They also say the PC version is VERY rare, but has good graphics.

from what i saw, the pc version has pretty similar graphics.

oh yeah, and another thing.

cons- the pc version only has 15 save files. not so bad, but i keep over that many on my two memory cards...

pros- alot of sound fx, music, and graphics options. you can choose to turn off sound fx, music, etc. some people may not care, but i thought its a cool feature, as i dont see many games that do have that option.

Tiny Bronco
01-21-2006, 05:52 PM
That is a pretty cool thing, but i still would get the ps version.

The PC version sucks. There is compatibility problems with newer Windows versions, and the music is horrible because it's in midi-format.

Tiny Bronco
01-24-2006, 05:52 PM
Compatability seems to be a horrible problem with the PC. In fact the only good thing i can think of for the PC is that u can get hacked files. Even then that's not so good. :)

That problem exicted for awhile for FFVIII as well....

playstation is way better then the pc unless you have a emulator :)

Squall Lionheart
01-28-2006, 08:41 PM
Actually we were talking more like visual graphics and sound quality...

ShadowHeart
01-29-2006, 09:35 AM
Well, the PlayStation version played on the computer in an emulator has the exact same graphics (but with possibly better resolution) and sound as it does on the PlayStation, with the added advantage that you can very easily take screenshots ;)

Squall Lionheart
01-29-2006, 10:52 AM
....I don't think there's a better resolution possibilty....thought screenshots are an advantage...

ShadowHeart
01-29-2006, 01:50 PM
Well, you can configure the resolution in emulators. And using a higher one does make a difference. It's not the most important thing in the world, but I did notice it looked a little better on a computer screen than on a TV.

Tiny Bronco
01-29-2006, 01:54 PM
Forgot about that. Still if your computer's graphics card isn't good like on most laptops it won't matter to much.

ShadowHeart
01-29-2006, 02:05 PM
True, and then you shouldn't be running a very high resolution anyway to avoid the game slowing down too much.

Tiny Bronco
01-29-2006, 02:10 PM
So basically the computer version is not good. :p :p :p ;) Go for the PS1. :)

Squall Lionheart

True, and then you shouldn't be running a very high resolution anyway to avoid the game slowing down too much.

reason why to go with PS instead of PC even with em. system.....
and that concludes it.......

Tiny Bronco
01-29-2006, 09:26 PM
I have no clue what your last post meant newer Squall but the PS1 is the way to go!!! :) The good Ol days.

Squall Lionheart

ShadowHeart

I can run FF7 and any other PS1 game on my computer in an emulator running a much higher resolution than the TV resolution without any problems though, and my computer is far from exceptionally good. It's just if you have a slow and really old computer you may have problems, but if it's fairly new it should work perfectly fine :)

to be honest....its the first I hear about improving graphic visual in that case.....

ShadowHeart
01-29-2006, 10:55 PM
Well the thing is, on a TV a PS1 game is run with a pretty low resolution, 300 something by 200 something pixels, and when running the games on an computer you'd use at least 640x480, possibly a lot higher, and that really does improve the level of details. It's not like you'll see extra things that weren't visible on the PlayStation, but it does look better, it's not as "blurry".. I guess.

Squall Lionheart
01-29-2006, 11:02 PM
When i've seen it on computer it was the same....
....even with multiple higher resolution.....

ShadowHeart
01-30-2006, 06:52 AM
I still concur that it's less blurry on a computer screen. I'm of course comparing to a standard old kind of TV, not one these new HDTV things or even plasma screens.

Squall Lionheart
01-30-2006, 08:57 AM
I would say slight diffrence.....still prefering PS........

ShadowHeart

Yeah, me too actually :)

Squall Lionheart

irony is....there are only 2 votes....

ShadowHeart
01-30-2006, 11:21 AM
Oh oops, in Firefox the poll options don't show at all, so I didn't know it was an actual poll. I voted now though :)

I'm sure Shaggy is looking into it when he has time, but I'm not sure he knows what's wrong (yet).

Squall Lionheart

Fine.....but I guess its an all agreed on PS desicion.....

Well playstation is better :D but PC would have so many run errors with XP if ran in capibility mode for an older windows version like 95

I'd have to say the PS version, only because theres too many keys to hit on the PC version and my hand eye coordination isn't that hot.

dappa
06-07-2007, 05:41 PM
I go for the ps version. The main reason for me I dont see the pc as a games machine.

But yeah there are tonnes of things wrong withthe pc version.

Seyluv
06-07-2007, 05:46 PM
I never owned the PC version so I';m g with the one I know te PS version.

Of course with the PC version you will never run out of pics because you can take screenshots.

ShadowHeart
06-12-2007, 05:42 PM
EmpressCrystal - if you have the PS version you can still take screenshots. All you need to do is get a PlayStation emulator, put your PlayStation CD in the computer and play. It's perfectly legal as long as your copy of the game is legal :) Of course, you can't use your regular memory cards (unless you buy an expensive box that allows you to connect a PS memory card to a computer, I think I saw one years ago), so you'd have to start over from scratch. I've got a few screenshots myself that way (I didn't have a PS1 nor PS2 for a couple of months a few years back so I played the PS version of FF7 on my computer instead).

Gackt Camui
06-21-2007, 09:45 PM
You can play that on the computer! Thats cool. That game would slow down my computer if I was to do that...

Big Boss
06-21-2007, 10:56 PM
I would the the PS version, because like the poster above me said it would probably slow down your computer. Maybe not, but it would take some space of your hard disk in your computer and it would be quite some.

Gackt Camui
06-27-2007, 02:40 PM
No...I know it would slow it down. This computer can barely handle nething...putting more onto it would like make it crash or something.:p

The PS version. It's the only version I've played, and plus the PC version sounds kind of crappy, to me, anyway. >>

Gackt Camui

I wouldn't know...what have you heard about it. Then again I haven't heard nething about it...so yeah maybe it is. Its all about the PS version

I'v never had the PC version of the game so I'll have to go with the PS version. And besides playing it on the PC does sound kinda weird. As in weird I mean, people would always picture play FF7 on the PS, and besides who wants to press all those keys when you can have a easy to use controller in your hand. I mean am I right?!

The Stalker
07-07-2007, 02:58 PM
The answer is simple:

PS version Emulated, that gives all the advantages of both PC and PS... the game runs with FPS 200-300 on AMD athlon XP 2500+, 1GB RAM and GForce 7600GD :D

07-12-2007, 03:02 PM
Yeah I totally agree with you too. I would rather play it on the ps for that reason alone too.
