Black mage or White mage?

Hmmm tough choice. White mages can cure, protect, revive, other good statuses, and cast holy. Black mages can use fire, ice, thunder, flare, drain, osmose, and ultima.

i prefer white mages, since im more of a defensive person. (plus, later on, they can usually get holy in most ffs.)

although black magic can get pretty nasty sometimes...(thinks of flare, meteor, doomsday, ultima, etc.)

then again, in some games, haste is white magic...that seals the deal. white magic it is :D

oh yeah! in ffV, krile's white mage costume looks like a kitty! a kitty! definitely white mages.

I like Black Mages the best cause i'm an offense fighter. Though Haste is great.

I would have gone for white mages a few years ago....but being offensive can gain you the upper hand by my experience...

id have it at more with Attaxk cuz W.M.s can protect themselfs and reflect magic off themselves

I'd go with the White Mage, if I had to choose. Well illlustrated by the fact that often, attacking mages are good and very useful, but fighter type of characters can usually deal just as much, if not more, damage often without the cost of MP :)

Yeah, they sure do. And it's quite nice to see a powerful spell wreak havoc on the enemies. But normally with a 4-character party I'd use both a white and black mage :p

In a party of 4 I'd have both a Black and White Mage. At least considering my experiences from FF1-3.

Yeah same here, I'd use one of each in a party of 4 normally (although I've picked 3 fighters sometimes to dish out more damage), but in a party of 3 I'd go with 1 white mage and no black :)

Huh? I'm trying to say that in the games I mentioned you use 4 characters at a time during battle, ie, you can have 4 characters fighting at the same time. Hell, in FF1, FF2, FF3 and FF5 you only have 4 characters total for the duration of the game!

Actually it's called dispell not disable. And I hate Reflect because you can't cure yourself

You can cure yourself anyway through items.. and in FF7, the enemy skill White Wind won't be reflected, so as long as not ALL your characters are low on HP, you're good to go ;)

White Wind is the best white magic there is. Besides Holy that is. Doubles your Health and cures all Status illnesses.

No "Holy" is the magic that ends up saving the Earth. White Wind is a magic under the class of holy instead of fire, ice, lighting, earth, etc. White Wind curse you of ailments and doubles your current HP.

Holy is actually useable in later FF games as a very powerful offensive white magic, strength comparable to the strongest black magics. And Meteor too. In FF7 they made Meteor and Holy unuseable, but they are useable in later FFs :)

it depends. if you have a white mage like in X-2, they don't really attack, just heal. but if you have a regular white mage that perform some attack, then white mage all the way. the best offense is a strong defense. if they can't kill you, then they can't win

i think white mage they can heal the wounded, wake the dead,and cure status aliments while black mage can only fight
