Status Ailments

Just having a couple of different status ailments can make a FF game quite difficult. They are always nasty things to deal with. Some of them might stay after a battle and some might dissapear with its caster.
What are your views on Status Ailments in the series?

I can't stand Virus, or any that turns me into a creature.

I find them annoying but the challenge is good. Trying to think which one is the most annoying..I guess for me it would be blind. I guess none of them are that bad on their own though.

ailments lasting after a fight are annoying, get KO'd before I consider buyin a cure for it, other ailments that makes u lose controls of commands are what pisses me off the most, Curse all Malboros and their bad breath!

hehe those ones would make u wish u were dead by giving u every ailment u could imagine then slowly take you apart, and you could never attack more than once or twice before they hit you with it..

once hit, u really laugh at your own death, u lose all control to berserk, start attacking urself because of confuse.. that is if you didnt fall asleep, lose HP in each attack because of poison, and even if u attack urself u'll probably miss because of blind T.T and what makes u boil is that the creature almost stops attacking and just watches the comedy!

XII's Malboros were a pushover and I wonder how XIII's going to be and also what status ailments will we see in that?

When you're in the lower levels, ailments can really be your best friend. Depending on the battles, I'd usually wait until it was over to take care of it.

Re: Status Ailments

everybody knows how to get rid of status ailments. we're just discussing what the worst one's are. i think probably blind, becoz i usualy just attack everything. but as said before, not many status ailments are bothersome on their own

Re: Status Ailments

*cough*

that's the problem with ailments.. early at the start u'd have to buy remedies n antidotes since u haven't learnned an ability or a magic that can cure u yet, so u have to waste lotz of money on itemz

*wobblez off to the clinic..* @.@

Phoenix Flame 06-13-2009 05:18 AM

Re: Status Ailments

And some can only be cured by itemz. XD

Re: Status Ailments

on final fantasy 9 I found it irritating when in a important boss fight your characters would have zombie status inflicted on them and then they would die in battle and you had to waste several turns as the life spell wouldn't revive them until you had first used the holy water on the ko'd character and then used life or phoenix down
