Ff12
What do you guys think about this game. I know it is going to have a real time battle system, no more screen shattering. Your friends will walk with you in the game. I wanted that in ff8, but now I got it. I think it will revolutionize ff games forever.

Just the removal of random battles is a revolution in the FF series :p
I'm looking very much forward to FFXII.. but unfortunately I'll have to wait a really long time for it (the game has to be translated to all sorts of European languages before it's released in any European country) :/ |
When is it's release date in Japan and the US?
|
IGN.com lists that it will be released in the US in the last quarter of 2005 and they don't seem to have any idea when it will be out in Japan. GameFAQs states that it will be released in Spring 2005 in Japan, but it's almost summer already..

FF12 should be good, the FFtactics and Vagrant Story team are working on it :D
I don't mind random battles so the battle system does not interest me much...I don't like the way Ashe looks like Yuna and Vaan looks like a cross between Zidane and Tidus though, Square are lazy these days. |
I dont think revolution is the right word for it.
Its more like following every one else. The first time i played that kinds off battles was with with grandia (1). They are really following if the inplant that you run around when you fight too, instead of staying in lines. I think that only the heavy fans will find FFXII special. |
Enix has never really been big on the random battles, except for the Dragon Warrior/Quest games. Look at Illusion of Gaia (SNES) and the Grandia games. Not to mention that Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are probably my favorite games, and they were both joint projects between Square and Enix even before the merge. I'm hoping it turns out to be more like the CT battle system.
And the Tactics team is working on it too? Excellent. This is shaping up to be very nice. |

Re: Final Fantasy XII
I'm definitely getting it as soon as it's released here. It seems very promising IMO, more promising than any FF title for a long time now :)
