FFVIII epsxe configuration help

I need some help configuring my epsxe for ff8... Here are my system specs-

Intel Pentium D, 2.80 GHz
NVIDIA GeForce FX5200, 256MB VRAM
1 GB RAM
Microsoft Windows XP Professional

I am currently using epsxe 1.60 with the graphics plugin, Pete's OGL2 plugin and eternal SPU for sound... I was wondering what the best configuration for highest clarity would be i.e., what settings, what shaders,etc... Please Help!!!

Thanks in advance
Suhas2112

Re: FFVIII epsxe configuration help

Apparently the workers of EPSXE are working on The PS2 emulator..and they throw away the EpsxE project...i heard that its still on a beta phase but it works..however i cant get that thing to work..hmmm
Well if you have any news about that tell me something...
And i cant configure the emulator too..but the problem is with the Open GL...You have to find a new plugin equal to the original PSONE/PSX..i havent find it...Stay cool ;)

Uh, ePSXe 1.7 was released on May 24th this year so apparently they haven't given up on it yet :)

suhas2112, you might want to check out the ePSXe forums:

I found this on after a quick look at the forums:

Dunno if you're running a CD or ISO, but these should do both fine. Looks very clean with these setting (compared to how it looks on the PS1 anyway :p). I think it was F5 you press for the controller, but mines started to do it auto for some reason.

My PC is 4 years old so it will probably run better on yours.

These are the settings I use. The game runs fairly well on my laptop with these. The only downs on them I see on my computer are the following 2:

- The pause splash screen doesn't appear;
- Battles take 1 or 2 more seconds to load.

Still, I prefer these to having choppy graphics.

for ff8, these settings work great for epsxe 1.7, including using the pec. good call.

Re: FFVIII epsxe configuration help

Gumdrop, your settings we're right on for me. i heard that people think epsxe 1.5 is the only way to run this game, but 1.7 and your settings work perfect. also, it helps to have a good system... at least it doesn't hurt.
