Arrow Battle Problems...

I have encountered some problems during battles and had a couple of suggestions to help improve it......

*First, some weapons' symbols don't appear...so you can't use them (ex: axes)
*Two handed weapons should be more effective than one handed.....
*Magics could use a boost by making a major change in it so diffrent magics have diffrent effects.......for example: for someone that doesn't rely mainly on his magic should be able to use it at a later level than magic users (one lvl 5 then the other lvl 8 for a same magic)......also those who don't rely on magic should be able (after enough leveling up) to use medium level magics not just low level, while those relying on magic should be able to use High level magic and unique spells......
*At my current level I find it hard to gain EXP in battles (Starting from that "Abizoah" thing that looks like a Wendigo) especially since leveling up requires a lot more EXP after each level, that way people can actually train to get to high levels (70 or above)
*Starting from my level.....weapons are already hard to find.......they require too much effort and the gap between the levels needed to obtain them is unreasonable....no one will even get near level 30 this way which is the limit for the best weapons and shouldn't be........
*I don't think there is a need for the # of items in stock because if they are gone then that will be very unpleasant for other people
*Someone should really find out about the PP bar and its uses (In my opponion it's related to the party member's defence....)
*A "Hero Vest" requires lvl 20 for 520 Gils, while a "Lost Vest" listed below it requires lvl 18 for 540 Gils, and they both have the same buff.......so there must be some kind of mistake
*Just some ideas about some magics: (you can add yours as well, level increases along with magic's effeciency as well)

Low Level: (for evreyone)
-Fire (Causes Fire Elemental damage)
-Blizzard (Causes Ice Elemental damage)
-Thunder (Causes Thunder Elemental damage)
-Cure (Heals party member's HP)
-Aero (Causes Wind Elemental damage)

NOTE:Elemental magics don't have to actually cause elemental damage....that's probably impossible in here

Medium Level: (for evreyone)
-Fira (Causes FIre Elemental damage)
-Blizzaga (Causes Ice Elemental damage)
-Thundara (Causes Thunder Elemental damage)
-Quake (Causes Earth Elemental damage)
-Tornado (Causes Wind elemental damage)
-Water (Causes Water Elemental damage)
-Demi (Causes Non-Elemental gravitational damage)
-Cura (Heals party member's HP)

High Level: (Magic dependant fighters only)
-Flare (Causes Fire-Ice-Thunder Elemntal damage)
-Meteor (Causes Non-Elemental gravitational damage)
-Curaga (Heals party member's HP)

Unique: (Magic dependent fighters only)
-Ultima (Causes Non-Elemental damage)
-Apocalypse (Causes Non-Elemental damage)
-Full Cure (Fully heals party member's HP & MP) <used once or twice per battle,not necessarily successful at each attempt>

I thought about other magics if any of them was available.....

Unavailable:
-Silence (Disable's opponent's magic ability) (High lvl)<not necessarily succeful at each attempt>
-Drain (Absorb oppnent's HP) (Medium lvl) <Small amount of HP>
-Life (Partly fills up part member's HP & MP) (High lvl)<not necesarily successful at each attempt>
-Sleep (Target misses a turn) (High lvl)<used once or twice, not necessarily succeful at each attempt>

*I thought if PP bar can be used same way as MP, then it can be used as an ability to summon monsters that do damage at early levels (10-20)(ability bought at item shop or another specialised new one)these monsters can be obtained by numbers so that many can own this ability, but at High levels (50-...) GFs/summons can be obtained, but only one of each type exists and can be obtained, for example two can't get the same GF, if someone obtained it first then no one else can......and PP can only be healed at Infirmary
*Odin Shield is the best by far as for level 18 ,there is nothing after it....same for the level 14 "Mythrill Hemet"......

It would be nice if someone took the time to read this and do something about it....

The only thing I think the PP bar does is greatly power up you when it reaches 100 %. (Like our battle. Of course, I think our elements cancelled out, and I did no damage anyway)

I can't help with all that other stuff though. Maybe Arkacia or Shaggy can.

It all looks good except that would really require some seriouse work to set up properly. I strongly agree on how hard it is to level up.

- Attack and defense seem grossly unbalanced. Possibly due to severly underpowered weapons in general. I'm unable to damage (well actually, to even HIT) Tiny Bronco, and he's a mage and I'm a fighter, at the same levels and I have the best equipment available to me. Something's very wrong there. A fighter can't even damage a mage? Seems like mage is by far the best for PvP battles. My only chance is that the full limit meter really does power me up a lot and that powers me up enough. If not, I may as well surrender.

Well I tryed to hit you once and missed too! Maybe both of our evade skills are to big. I can only cast a Fire 2 spell 3 more times so after that Its going to be a limit war.

Yeah well, I have a higher natural attack and a stronger weapon (I would assume), but I guess similar defense.. a mage missing a fighter, or at least doing very low damage, that wouldn't surprise me, but the oppose it is puzzling. It's the ONLY way I can do damage after all.

EDIT: Okay this is seriously messed up. I just filled my limit meter completely, and attacked with that. I missed again.

I don't think, for some strange reason, that physical attacks are working. Every physical attack in this battle has missed. A grand total of 7!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yipee! Fists work! Cept I just brused my nucles on Shadow's Armor! That would hurt.

Ok, I'll have a look, but it will have to be later today. Have to go out very soon.

Sounds like some of the wheels have fallen off.

I read in another thread (I believe Rorchach or Totorosama mentioned it.) that there's a improved RPG hack or something. Maybe it's just because we have such an old one? Or is this one the latest? (I hope not ) So maybe if we download the newest RPG hack, then it wouldn't have all these problems. (But it's just a guess.) Just a suggestion

Well, the problem I and Ark have is that there is a update to the whole vb forum. I would love to update this forum, but in doing so, it would lose or hurt the rpg mod. So that is why I have updated yet. I'm still looking on how to update with out loosing all of your gil and items. There is a way, but I haven't found an easy one yet. Sorry everyone

*First, some weapons' symbols don't appear...so you can't use them (ex: axes) - Shaggy needs to find and add some images for them (I can't because I don't have access to the server, and even if I did, wouldn't know what to do with it). If we can't find images, I'll have to delete them all.

*Two handed weapons should be more effective than one handed..... - I'll up the buff on these, but want to wait and see what is going to happen with images for them first.

For example warriors can only use level one magic, ever, mages can go up to level 3. I can't make it any more spacific than that because it would mean ajusting it for every user according to his/her fighting style, and that is impossible the way this RPG works. I can't make it stronger with level increases either. All magic has to be bought from the item shop as an item, and its atributes are already set

Do you want more experience awarded for monster battles?

As you know I've been semi-active here for a while, and will be for a bit longer. I'll fix this when I get the chance, unless someone else wants to go in and do it for me .

Only one of them should be visible. The armour types can only be used by certain classes. The hero vest is for warriors, while the lost vest for scholars and both are around the same price and buff. Thing is though that the generic class can use everything, so some items will be doubled or tripled in price and buff. Just the luck of the draw.

I can't make it elemenal spacific like that sorry. Can't use status changing stuff either because there is just no way to make it work within the confines of the way this RPG is coded. As I said before, the magic is already divided. Warriors can only use level 1 of anything, Scholars level 1 and 2, Mages all three levels. Generics can use it all.

There is no way that I can see to do any of this. You need to remember this wasn't coded as a FF RPG, but a dungeons and dragons type thing.

Will also take a look at the strength ect on the characters.

Final word, I need to go through and look at everything to see what can be done about all this and that takes time I really don't have much of at the moment. You will all have to be patient with me, or nag Shaggy .

I will get what I can done, when I can do it. That is all I can promise right now.
