This was annoying.

Did anyone else find it annoying that practically everything in the strategy guide was involving playonline?

Not really, considering I never used the Brady guide for FFIX (I've heard that it wasn't a good guide anyway). Besides, most of the puzzles in FFIX weren't that tough, and that's all I mostly use an faq for anyway. But I've heard horror stories about FFIX's print guide.

I just wanted to use the guide to be able to know how to complete some sidequests, like the coffee bean quest (damn, I was bummed out when the coffee guy was dead when at disc 4 ), and the side-quest of the Mayor's Key. ^^"

Re: This was annoying.

Well, usually for side quests like that, just going back to places, multiple times, it's just a good time to train up your weakest characters at the same time, so it's not a wasted at all .
My bro on the other hand doesn't want to waste time at all, and finish FFIX straight through. I know, 'cause on the other hand, Final Fantasy IX's story is the strongest factor of the game, but just putting the effort in things like chocobos, that's too much to ask for. He's just a lazy.

Re: This was annoying.

I thought the guide was annoying as you had to keep going to play online to find things out. Saying that I had already cleared the game about three times by then so i knew just about everything by then.

Re: This was annoying.

I get the guides for the pictures becuase they tend to have a lot of artwork in. The FFIX guide was a pain in the butt, I didn't have the internet when I got it so that ticked me off a lot. In its defence though it isn't really a bad guide, the FF7 PSX guide was the worst - it was full of mistakes.

Re: This was annoying.

The guide did suck overall but if you try and go to playonline these days for some reason the final fantasy 11 site keeps coming up.

I think the same people made the guide for ff10 and ff10 part 2 but they are better guides.

Re: This was annoying.

When I got the guide, I knew something was up when I realized how small it was.

And I screamed in horror when I read that you had to go to playonline to find out just about EVERY secret in the game...because I didn't have the internet. XP

But I think it's alright if you want just a regular walkthrough. It's challenging, but fun to discover the secrets for yourself anyway.

Re: This was annoying.

It was deffinatly annoying, seeing as when I went to play online for the information, there was another Final Fantasy games information on it. Maybe Play Online only had the info til another FF came out?
