Re: Rikku's Steal Skill vs. Machines

Think about it...the command is steal. She STEALS a vital part of the machine - since (like humans) the machines parts are all linked together, it cannot consist w/o all it's parts and disassembles. It looks like she smacks them/hits them w/her breasts/says a "Fall apart" word, but it only looks that way because of her swiping her hand as if she is literally snatching something away from them.

Think that's been said, but it's exactly it. Unless it's something that our normal eyes can't see. O.o

well in that case i think we as players should have gotten some sort of useful item. i mean, she did steal something right? so couldn't she at least hold it for a turn and hurl it at an enemey the next turn?

Re: Rikku's Steal Skill vs. Machines

What would machines hold? Monsters probably get items from their roams around the areas. Machines(machina) wouldn't hold anything, because they're made to....er....I'll get back to you on that. So, anyway. Rikku+Hands=Dead Machine. She might steal it's leg, and without it's leg, it can't walk, and if it can't walk, it can't attack, and if it can't attack, it might as well drop dead. O.O

Re: Rikku's Steal Skill vs. Machines

well like in your case where you say she may steal a leg. i was just saying why doesn't she hold that leg and throw it at someone else. makes sense no?

Dunno. Waste of time for them I guess. Better to kill it and leave it dead than steal a vital part and keep it alive. O.o

Look at it from this point of view. The Al Bhed salvaged the machines (at least that's how the story goes) and they are known for al bhed potions, right? When Rikku steals the item doesn't she grab an item (leg, arm, core, what difference does it make) and the machine falls apart - they cannot consist without the item...kind of like taking the batteries out of a toy
