Al Bhed compilation sphere. They are found throughout Spira - usually in a Rin's Travel agency. If you DO get all the primers, even if they are on different quests (saved games somewhere on one of your memory cards, duh) you can compile the data onto your current game and viola!!! Instant al bhed synthan! (or whatever he calls you.)
Once you have the airship under your control you talk to Rin and he'll give you the 99 underdoggies  Does THAT help Kat??? Purr kitty purr!!!

The soonest you can get the Underdogs Secrets is before the Evrae fight...I just got them again in my Tidus only challenge - Yea! Now i can give him Double OD!

well Rikku's overdrive doesn't really build up that fast so...i will prolly only use it once or twice. whats the max damage they do any way?

Well, without leveling her, and the soonest you can get them, I did about 10,000-12,000 x 6(?). Something like that.
