Being owned by bosses and fiends
So guys and gals, I take it at some point you've challenged a boss on a final fantasy and have had your ass whooped by them.
Lets share our misfortunes with one other on the various final fantasies you've played and have a laugh about it at the same time. I'll start off I challenged Zeromus the condemmer on ff12 the other day with a sub par party and had my ass handed to me by him, It was late in the morning when it happened so I went to bed in a huff, lol

Here's another one: has anyone ever left the crashed gelnika after a long session of power levelling in there to get sources and found emerald weapon sitting right in front of your sub and initiated combat with it by accident? (FF7) |I did that once by mistake (this was once i first got the sub) and i was awestruck at those emerald beams wiping my party out in two turns. lol I did that by accident on my first play of the game, never again lol

The Mandragoras in FF12....every one of those little S.O.B's kicked my ass several times before I found a decent strategy to beat them..

Re: Being owned by bosses and fiends
You know...I don't think I've ever been more frustrated in a game than the first two times I challenged Zodiark in XII.
I'd get him down to 10% health and he's use that paling and spam Darkja... x_X My party kept up with the Darkja, but I never could do any damage...I would have gone for several hours using all my ethers/high ethers, PDs and MPs before he completely wiped me out...so I just gave up and reset it. XD I used a fully-maxed out Dark Matter my third time through and he didn't get a chance to put up that paling.

Re: Being owned by bosses and fiends
Ok has anyone versed them cuddly little creatures on vile island on final fantasy 9 which lookly like cuddly sheep? Their name is called Yan, their counterattacks are vicious and them creatures are not to be underestimated.
I've had my ass whooped before by them when I least expect it coz they come in herds of three sometimes. I have a good strategy now to defeat them without too much fuss. But man I was peed off when I got wiped out when I first discovered that island.

Re: Being owned by bosses and fiends
I say...if all else fails CHEAT! I use an Action Replay disc when I get desperate. I think well I'm either going to just give in and never play the game again or I can cheat get past this part and then play as normal afterwards. At least that way I play the game and not put it back on the shelf.
I got so annoyed after like the 7th time of dying to Seymour in FFX I just thought what the hell and stuck my husbands Action Replay disc in and then handed his ass back to him within seconds . The other boss that I've got frustrated with was Garik in FFX-2 when he's telling the mountain his battle plan towards the Guado and Yuna went to talk him out of it. I'd managed to kill one of his youth warriors in about ten minutes but after another half hour and many missed shots I decided to get Paine to do a scan and his health hadn't gone down. Again the Action Replay disc came out. And the other point I've got to is Yojimbo in FFX-2 again. I was all pumped up...I had saved all but 2 people and had tp'ed to the chamber of faith where I met Dark Yojimbo - I was following a guide (as it was my second time playing the game and I was aiming for 100%) and I got my ass owned in about 2 mins. The action replay disc hasn't come out yet though...I thought I'd try and farm a few more levels.

Non-FF....I just finished Heavenly Sword.
The main boss on that one gave me quite a difficult time until I learned how to counter his attacks.
