.Hack//G.U. Volumes 1-3

I apologize in advance if a similar thread already exists. I know that there is one for .Hack in general, but I thought there should be a separate one for G.U. itself.

Now, to the main point of this thread. I just want everyone to discuss their thoughts about this wonderful game (preferably good ones). You can discuss anything, but please just warn before you post a spoiler. So that members know what they should or should not read, specify but posting which game the spoiler is for.

For those of you who have no idea what .Hack is, I'll tell you now, but if you do, then just skip over this next part.

The plot of .Hack//G.U. is set 7 years after the network crisis of the year 2010. "The World" has been shut down as a result of a fire at CC Corporation headquarters in the year 2015. So now, CC Corp. has decided to release a second version of "The World" in an attempt to satisfy the hunger that "The World" players still have for this MMORPG. They have dubbed it "The World Revision 2" or R:2 for short. It was released only a year after the fire at CC Corp. HQ. Many players of "The World" 's original version quit. The reason for this was that they could not use their old characters in the new "R:2" version of "The World." But, nonetheless, people flocked to try this new, amazing MMO. You take on the role of Haseo, who is the main character of the .Hack//Roots series. The first hour of the game or so, you play through Haseo's first adventure in "The World R:2". After this, the game skips 8 months ahead.(It may be 6, but I believe that it was 8.) You then play through a fantastic game, packed with plot twists and turns galore.

In .Hack//G.U. you will meet many characters that you will remember from the original .Hack games, though they may be a little hard to figure out.

For anyone who wants to know, here are the old characters that show up in the game. Note that these don't really matter, and that it is more or less just for your own amusement:

Haseo- Haseo is actually the player behind the PC Sora in the .Hack//Sign series, as well as a non-storyline role in Project .Hack. (Infection-Quarantine)

Endrance- My personal favorite character of G.U. actually turns out to be my favorite character of Project .Hack. Endrance is the player behind the PC Elk, seven years prior to G.U.

Yata- Yata is the player behind the PC Wiseman, who appeared in Project .Hack, as well as .Hack//Dusk.

Piros the 3rd- I'm sure that those of you who have played Project .Hack can tell immediately who this is. Yes, the annoying Piros has returned.

Natsume- Yes, Project .Hack players, she has returned as well.

Kuhn- This womanizing player is the one behind the PC Seig in Project .Hack.

Okay, I think I got them all... sorry that this initial post was so long...

*addiction* I just got the second one a few weeks ago, but haven't really done much in it D: I love the series though, much easier to play than Project .hack. D:

Re: .Hack//G.U. Volumes 1-3

Yeah, I think so... It's got a very deep storyline... I'm completely restarting, so that I can get all movies, BGMs, Wallpapers, etc... By the way, did you know that they are backwards compatible with each other? I had data from 2 , but not 1, since it got deleted. Well, I restarted 1 and it said ".Hack//G.U. Vol. 2 data found. Would you like to start Volume 1 with a higher level?" You say yes, and you start at level 35, with a level 18 weapon, and good armor... Very handy...

I've ALWAYS been wanting to play GU. ALWAYS. Unfortunately, I'm too poor right now to buy any of the games. ><;

So Haseo is Sora...Sora being my most favorite .Hack character in the whole series (besides Mia/Macha.) Ugh, so sad, unable to play. *Cries*

It'll be okay, you'll be able to play it one day... Yup, Elk was my favorite in the Project .Hack series, and he is my favorite today, having recreated his character as Endrance... HOORAY FOR ELK, ENDRANCE, MIA, MAHA, AND MACHA!!!
