best characters thread

FFnut did a similar thing for tactics. im posting a list of the best characters, 1 best, to bottom. i think all the characters are great, but some are better than others. unfortunately...i just cant rank em all :D

i think its safe to assume the first two best:
1: Gogo. (mimic, mime) no brainer there. come on, hes basically every other character wrapped into one. you may not think so if you havent discovered how to edit his commands though...(go to "status")
2: Shadow(ninja, throw.) okay, if it werent for gogo, hed be number one. with a ribbon, illumina, and momento ring on, hes virtually invincible, except in rare situations. interceptor is an added plus! give him the exp egg, and a day in the dinosaur forest will get him to 99! (hopefully you rescued him though...^^;;)also, give him elemental armor and shields for even more godlike invernurability.probably why they planned on killing the poor guy off...

i just cant think of what the rest of the list would look like...can any of you list the rest? (im tired...) but i think we can all agree on the first two, right? make sure to list reasons why theyre that rank...

also, reasons why the list could be changed . hopefully we all can make a cool list :p ;)

mog may be the third best :p moogle charm just plain rocks, i can climb up the fantatics tower without fighting those annoying lvX magics, and grab all the treasure :D ! plus, water rondo is a good dance. it can heal you , and deal out damage. (heck, i walked halfway across the world map just to get it, i deserve it. i went through serpent trench in the world of balance, walked across the mountains near nikeah, went through the phantom forest, and jumped down baren falls. of course i couldve just waited in the veldt to encounter one, but im too impatient ^I^)

so maybe mog is the third best character. he can help you not encounter random battles, as you can just go to the desert south of maranda and the dinosaur forest if you want to level up. will update later... :)

id say locke 1st
-can equip atma and ragnarok weapons and can steal rare items

then probably celes
-can equip same stuff as locke well most stuff and absorb magic

then i would say Shadow
-can throw attack and even better has interceptor

1st Ok, since this is different than "who do you like best" poll, I'm going to say that the most useful and interesting character to play with (and get more background on) is Shadow.

3rd Sabin
4th is Terra - morph ability is awesome.
close 5th is Edgar
6th Cyan
7th Strago
8th Umaru
9th Setzer
10th Relm (Sorry to whomever likes her alot - just didn't find her a very useful character.)

It's very hard to put them in a list, since there are 14! characters available, but these charac. were my best in the game.

well, i meant the best all-around character, and usefulness in the game, but it doesnt really matter. :)

i think a cool thing about ffVi is that you dont need to be leveled up past even 40+, as long as your magic is good. (my last game had people barely past 40.)

going through fanatics w/out encounters is so awesome :D :p

Well, i could defeat Kefka, and my strongest character (Sabin) was level 45. And i finished the last battle quit easily, you know :rolleyes:

yes, unfortunately, ffvi really isnt too difficult. (especially if youve played it alot of times...)

even though kefka may be the best ff villian ever, hes not the hardest final boss...the "tier" thingies are at least a challenge :(

I love Gogo and Shadow the most. Shadow not just because he's strong, but also because he's cool and his background story is just that good (if you take the time to find it out, if not, it'll seem like he has none). Too difficult to rank them all, but I also like Sabin for his Blitz attack :) And Celes, but that's more for who she is rather than how she does in battle.

I actually had much much MUCH more trouble getting on top of Fanatic's Tower than on Kefka's Tower :cool: ..............until i discovered that certain add-on for Mog :D (don't remember the name, though :p .....)

Avathar, that item is called the Moogle Charm. It really takes the challenge out of the game. :p

This thread is old, and I already discovered that every characters is equally broken, so...
