Who is this Maester Seymour?!!

Maester Seymour Guado or Lord Seymour) is a fictional character and one of the main antagonists in the Square Enix role-playing video game Final Fantasy X of the Final Fantasy series.

Seymour is the leader of the Guado nation, a race of humanoids in the world of Spira. He is also a maester of Yevon. He inherited both positions after the death of his father, Lord Jyscal Guado.

His Biography!!!

Seymour is actually half-Guado and half-human, as his father married a human woman in an attempt to foster friendship between the Guado and human races. However, many saw the boy as an abomination and Jyscal's decision to wed a human led to disunity in the Guado tribe. In order to avoid further strife amongst the Guado nation, Jyscal had his wife and son exiled to the island of Baaj. Afterwards, Seymour's mother ? suffering from a terminal illness ? gave her life in the Zanarkand Ruins to become the fayth of the aeon Anima, believing that only in sacrificing herself for Spira's temporary peace (known as "the Calm" against the malevolent creature Sin would her son be accepted by the people. Horrified, Seymour refused the aeon and returned to Baaj, where he dwelled alone for years, becoming increasingly morose and cynical. In time, he came to believe that death was the only freedom from the suffering of life, and that it would be in everyone's best interests to die and thus developed a Messianic complex.But to achieve his aims, he had to have a power greater than Anima, whose power he eventually accepted, over even all of the aeons combined.

At eighteen years of age, during High Summoner Braska's Calm, Seymour's exile was revoked and he was summoned back to Guadosalam, the capital of the Guado nation, where he was then ordained as a priest of Macalania Temple. Seven years later, he returned to Zanarkand to accept Anima's power, and then had its fayth statue transported to Baaj Temple, which he revisited several times while deciding if he should carry out a plan he had devised. Due to his years of loneliness and ever growing morbid philosophy, Seymour had concluded that his duty to Spira and release them from the painful prison which he believed life to be. As a result, he knew he would need a power greater than all of the aeons combined; he saw Sin as Spira's only hope. Shortly before and during the events of Final Fantasy X, Seymour set in motion a plan to ascend the hierarchy of Yevon, with his ultimate goal being to become the next Sin, so that he may kill everyone in Spira.

I would never call him 'lord' seymour. He made poor Yunie marry him. That wasn't very nice. I used gameshark to put him in my party, I gave him Unlimited HP, and spent a good while smacking some sense into him! XD He never learned his lesson tho.

Eh, I thought that he was..kind of an ass.

After all, he tried to pretty much purge Spira and murder everything. I mean, I wasn't lying when I said those pics were kewl, but...yeah, he was really crazy. XP

Sephiroth....is rated where he should be with out all the fan girls publicizing him more than he needs to be.

And Maestor Seymour is just way overrated lol...he doesnt really even do anything in the FFX storyline.

Seymour is like some of the other villians in final fantasies, either wants to rule or destroy everyone in the misbelief that it will save em.

the only thing and this is my opinion..
but the only thing about Seymour that is different from other villains, is the fact that he only wants to end the world because he wishes to end the suffering.
Like he was SO obsessed with ending the people's suffering that it made him go all fruit n stuff...

But, but, he had a good cause.

And yet, he's one of the Leaders of Spira. He had power, and he wasted it trying to be all badass and killing everyone to help them, when over time, he could've helped everyone in his position of power.
