My friend was telling me about a Desert town that he took a ship/walked to where the enemies outside the town turned two of his party members to stone and the last character got a beat-down by the 8...

FF 2 seems to be easier to me that 1...but I'm still pretty early in the game.

Thanks ShadowHeart...I WAS (and think I still am) on normal mode...just restarted with a White mage instead of a red one (the white mage can cast the life spell.)

I like Zeromus_X's breakdown on the differences. I thought the PS1 (the only ones I've played) versions of FF1 and 2 were off teh chain in terms of difficulty. I think I'd preferr playing the GBA...

I have them (and have played them) for the PS1; I also recently picked up a copy of Dawn of Souls... why is it 'nerfed'?
