- Chinese New Year Spectacular 30Jan - 9Feb - New York
The Chinese New Year Spectacular at Manhattan's Radio City Music Hall is presented by New Tang Dynasty TV, a multilingual, non-profit TV network based in New York.

- Red Melon - San Francisco

Famed for their Water Melon boat parties in San Francisco Bay, the Melon crew have now set up a monthly house night at the DNA Lounge.
After an overhaul and some extensive renovations, the Lounge is now a state-of-the-art, after-hours venue, complete with world-class four-corner EAW sound, fully immersive intelligent lighting, a brand new "floating" dance floor, fully remodelled restrooms and bars and a slew of added amenities.

- Global Cuba Fest - Miami
On Sunday at sunset, music takes over Miami Beach as the Global Cuba Fest comes to town in the travelling "Spiegeltent". Cuba's young musicians mesh sounds of their roots with influences from other cultures, creating a delicious contemporary stew.
The Spiegeltent, which travels between Miami and New York, has an opulent decor of mirrors and brocade, seating 350 people in an intimate and original setting for any show.

- Bruce Springsteen - Hartford, CT on February, 28th
Bruce Springsteen and the E Street Band continue to tour their first new studio album together for five years - Magic. This date is at the Hartford's XL Center.
"The Boss" has gained a reputation as one of rock 'n' roll's greatest live performers, giving his all every time he steps on the stage - sometimes playing for up to four hours. No wonder then that his army of fans are so loyal. It takes place in the HCC Arena and it costs from $65 to $95.



- Casablanca – Cambridge

Spend Valentine's Day reliving the glories of Casablanca at the Brattle Theatre in Cambridge, near Boston. Be shocked at gambling in Rick's Café Americain! Weep as Dooley Wilson plays As Time Goes By! Thrill as Rick Blaine dispatches Strasser!
The Brattle long ago made it a tradition to screen the 1942 film classic on Valentine's Day. Rick Blaine (Humphrey Bogart) runs the shady and immensely popular café, frequented by refugees desperate to leave Vichy-controlled Morocco, as well as all manner of cops and robbers. Into this den of iniquity walks Ilsa Lund (Ingrid Bergman), the love of Rick's life, but now the companion of French resistance agent Victor Laszlo (Paul Henreid).
It costs $9,50, and you’ll be able to go the 14th and 15th of Februar.

-Festival Sundiata - Seattle

The Seattle Center celebrates African and African-American culture with Festival Sundiata, a four-day event showcasing the rich diversity of African music, dance, food, arts, crafts and much more.
Free to the public, the festival is dedicated to making African art, heritage and culture more accessible while highlighting local and regional talents and businesses.

- NASCAR at Daytona International Speedway

Daytona International Speedway hosts races each season during the NEXTEL series of NASCAR races. The tri-oval shaped track opened in 1959 and has a seated capacity of approximately 240,000.
The National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR) is the largest sanctioning body of motorsports in the United States. Of the three race series they sanction, the NEXTEL Cup Series is by far the most popular.
It takes place on the February, 9th.

-Madrid International Fashion Week – Madrid

The Juan Carlos I Exhibition Centre in Madrid hosts International Fashion Week (SIMM), the most important female fashion exhibition in the country.
SIMM represents all areas of the fashion industry, from vanguard designers and party clothes to city and rural wear, everyday wear, sportswear, underwear, fashion for large women and teen fashion. Models also take to the catwalk, showcasing collections by up-and-coming and some more well-known designers. It costs €30 (€15 if you register beforehand) and it takes place in February, from the 15th to the 17th in the Parque Ferial Juan Carlos 1 (IFEMA).

-27é Festival de Jazz Terrassa - Terrassa

Important and well known jazz festival within the country, with the performance of artists such as Richard Galliano, Philipp Häfliger, Angela Brown, or David Pastor. It takes place from the 20th February to the 16th March.

-Carnaval

This year (2008) carnaval begins on 30th January and ends on 10th February. Carnaval in Spain takes place on the streets of most Spanish towns. People dress up and go out, and dance all night long. In some places, such as Cadiz and the Canary Islands, colourful processions are organised and participants proudly wear elaborate costumes they have spent all year making. Don't miss the burial of the sardine procession on the Wednesday after Carnaval.
