"Crystal Palace", sounds like he's talking about FFIII to me, although; he could be talking about FFIV. (There's a crystal palace in both of them)
If he is; my favourite place to train in FFIII is Bahamut's Cavern and my favourite place to train in FFIV is the Lunar Ruins.
