International Events Guide

Hi everyone. The purpose of this thread is to bring you the events that are taking place world wide: music festival, art, shows... and so on. And I'm going to post info from many different places, as this Forum gathers members from many different places all around the world.

Today, CHICAGO and NEW YORK

If you're in Chicago (hey John!) you might go and visit the Chicago Auto Show (http://www.chicagoautoshow.com/) from the 8th to the 17th of February. It is the largest auto show in North America and has been held more times than any other auto exposition on the continent. This year marks the 100th edition of the Chicago Auto Show, giving it the distinction of being the first North American auto show to reach 100 shows.

If you're looking for some entertainment, you may also go and see the live gameshow 'Don't spit the water' at the Playground Theater, from 25 Jan 2007 to 31 Mar 2008 (Saturdays only), where each contestant fills their mouth with water and must avoid laughing and spitting it out while the rotating comedians try everything in their power to make them do just that. (lol, seems funny xD). The entry costs $12 and you may find more info in their website: http://www.dontspitthewater.com/

If by the other hand you're looking for some music, you might want go to see the Spice Girls live at the United Center. Will you be one of the first guys to behold their re-unification?? I guess that you would be lucky if you found available tickets now... xD by the way, they cost from $70 to $120. http://www.thespicegirls.com/en/index.html It seems there're still some available tickets, so hurry up!! This is their new look:

If you're located in the East Cost, (in New York City], in this case), I'm sure you'd like to go to the Foo Fighters live concert in Madison Square Garden, in Manhattan. Foo Fighters take their melodic, guitar-heavy rock on tour in support of latest album, Echoes, Silence, Patience & Grace. It's on the 19th February and it costs from $29.50 to $49.50

For more info, visit their webpage: http://www.foofighters.com/

If you're looking for something else, you could try Ice Skating. Central Park has two ice skating rinks that are open in the winter months: Lasker Rink (north-Park at 106th St) and Wollman Rink (mid-Park at 62nd St). This must be one of the most picturesque places to ice-skate in the world. Set among the trees and rolling hills of Central Park and with a backdrop of Manhattan skyscrapers, it's magical.

If you don't really like this either, you could try at the 'Strawberry One-Act Festival', from the 14th to the 24th of February. Forty short pieces are chosen to take part and are performed on the stage. There are three or four performances each night and at the end of the show, the audience votes and helps determine which plays advance to the semi-finals and then final.

If you want some more info, more info will be posted soon!!

I'll keep posting events taking place in the USA, Canada, UK, Spain, Portugal, Australia, Belgium, Holland, Germany, France... and many other places.

An improved version is being posted soon.
