Final Fantasy Movie
Anyone like the film. I did. I liked the computer graphics it had and the interesting story to it.
Who here saw it in the theaters? My wife isn't into that sortive stuff..so I had to wait for it to come one on DVD .. Speaking of the movie..anyone want me to start a actual forum about just the movies of Final Fantasy? |

I saw the movie in the theaters with some friends. I like it, it was extremely well made graphic wise, but I was disappointed in the story. I would have liked the story to be medieval, not that futuristic sci fi stuff. Some of the later FF games are a little bit sci fi-ish, but the movie takes it too far IMO. Still, I'd give it a 3 out of 5

the only think I liked about it was the graphics, other than that I found it kind of boaring :/
I dont think you realy need a forum for the ff movies, if people want to talk about them they can postit in the ff forum or i the entertainment forum. |

The Spirits Within was a boil on the anus of Final Fantasy. It is literally the worst movie ever made and if Square/Squaresoft/Square Enix/Whatever they're called this week ever makes another movie I will swear off Final Fantasy forever. Thank you.

Advent Children doesn't count. It doesn't count as an FF movie simply because it's a sequel to a story that had piss-poor potential for action after it ended. There is no way that a sequel for FF7 can ever come out with any sort of coherent story (save one; the Series written by Frank Verderosa) without reaching into the BS Plot Device pool. Screw Square's movie team - they should stick to the games and not try to take the movie industry too, it's not working for any company that makes movies based on video games (I direct you to the reviews of Tomb Raider by the players of the games).
Square + Movies + Me = Me going on a rampage. So shut up before you start telling me to calm down.

Spirits within truly was just another notch on hitlers bedpost, there was just too much talking coupled with the terrible script, they should have got the guy back who wrote the script for wing commander... i would have enjoyed the movie more with less spiritual stuff on screen with incompentent characters (i dont mind it in games or good films) and maybe proper enemies

no don't. it's the worst film you will ever see it has noting to do with final fantasy. it shouldn't even be called that. the games are named final fantasy because once upon a time square was going out of buisness. They made a final game...final fantasy. This brought them back into buisness so they made more of the final fantasy series...but they didnt want to change the name cos then it might change the sales...if the customers saw the same name it was the same game type of thing. So the film has the name final fantasy to make customers come but when i saw it in the cinemas i wanted my money back it had nothing to do with the series.
Moving on... I am also very much looking forward to FF7AC because (in my opinion) FF7 is the best of the classics and a sequal sounds good to me. However i was very much looking forward to ff10-2 but it was the worst ff game i have ever played - worse than the idea of having a final fantasy online (which, horrifyingly, has happened). Thank you for listening to my lengthy and boring opinion

I didn't think the movie was that horrible. The story was bad, yes, but at least it was pretty Anyway, yeah, I agree it should never have been called Final Fantasy. It has nothing whatsoever in common with the games.. save for the name "Gaia" that appears towards the end of the movie, and that's not a lot.

i've tried to forget it so i can't remember that bit. I spose the film itself wasn't sooo bad but i was thoroughly disappointed that it wasn't anything to do with the series

Re: Final Fantasy Movie
Yeah Spirits Within was one of the worst films I've ever parted money with to see in a cinema. I wasn't really interested in the whole thing, I arrived late so missed the first few minutes but didn't think it had a good story or anything. In fact my memory of the whole thing has pretty much gone, it was that boring.
