In my current game I'm starting to use Yuffie a bit more because she can use mime and still do 4000+ damage. Very nice when you're trying to get Power/Derexity sources.

Well, eventually it doesn't really matter which characters are the best, 'cause of the whole materia system, but my favourite team:

Cloud, Vincent and Cid.

And when Cloud wasn't available for a while:

Vincent, Tifa and Cait Sith. ^^

I liked using Cloud, Barret, and Cid. They seemed to have had the best limit breaks even though i preferred Barrets ungarmax over his catastrophy. How many times does that hit anyway?

my favorite lineup is cloud, tifa, and cid. once all three are raised to lvl 99 (gimme elixer pots are a big help) they are, in my opinion the best lineup.

Sometimes I'll switch Vincent with either Tifa or Nanaki

Once Aeris came into the game i used Cloud, Aeris, Tifa.

After getting nanaki, i normally use Cloud, Aeris, Nanaki

Throughout the game i swap the characters up but my final lineup is always one of the following:

Cloud, Yuffie, Nanaki

Cloud, Tifa, Nanaki

Cloud, Cait Sith, Yuffie

Cloud, Cait Sith, Nanaki

Cloud, Yuffie, Tifa

Cloud, Vincent, Nanaki

Yuffie, Nanaki, Cloud and Cait Sith are really good with 4x cut with the right stat values to compliment them =]
