Lightbulb Ff12

What do you guys think about this game. I know it is going to have a real time battle system, no more screen shattering. Your friends will walk with you in the game. I wanted that in ff8, but now I got it. I think it will revolutionize ff games forever.

Just the removal of random battles is a revolution in the FF series

I'm looking very much forward to FFXII.. but unfortunately I'll have to wait a really long time for it (the game has to be translated to all sorts of European languages before it's released in any European country) :/

IGN.com lists that it will be released in the US in the last quarter of 2005 and they don't seem to have any idea when it will be out in Japan. GameFAQs states that it will be released in Spring 2005 in Japan, but it's almost summer already..

FF12 should be good, the FFtactics and Vagrant Story team are working on it
I don't mind random battles so the battle system does not interest me much...I don't like the way Ashe looks like Yuna and Vaan looks like a cross between Zidane and Tidus though, Square are lazy these days.

I dont think revolution is the right word for it.
Its more like following every one else.

The first time i played that kinds off battles was with with grandia (1).
They are really following if the inplant that you run around when you fight too,
instead of staying in lines.
I think that only the heavy fans will find FFXII special.

Enix has never really been big on the random battles, except for the Dragon Warrior/Quest games. Look at Illusion of Gaia (SNES) and the Grandia games. Not to mention that Chrono Trigger and Chrono Cross are probably my favorite games, and they were both joint projects between Square and Enix even before the merge. I'm hoping it turns out to be more like the CT battle system.

And the Tactics team is working on it too? Excellent. This is shaping up to be very nice.

I agree. There's nothing new as far as the new character designs, nothing dynamic or special.

Re: Ff12

What is real time battling? Does that mean it won't be term based?

Final Fantasy XII

It seems cool
Are you gonna buy it? ^^

Release date Oct - Dec 2005

Prologue

A warrior takes sword in hand, holds a stone to chest
Disappearing memories carved onto the sword
Trained skills entrusted to the stone
The story is told by the sword and continued by the stone
Now, let that story be told...

That is the story of a world called Ivalice.

The strong military kingdom known as the Arcadia Empire
That rules the Valentia Continent,
And the Rosalia Empire that rules the Ordalia Continent
Have been continuously at war for long years.

In the midst of it, Arcadia Empire invaded the small kingdom of Dalmasca,
Positioned in the hallway between the two continents and thus is geopolitically important.

Under the invasion of the Arcadia Empire, the Dalmasca Kingdom accepted defeat.
But Ashe, the rightful heir to the trone of Dalmasca,
Joined the resistance army movements to fight against the empire.

The enemy's chase and attack of this girl with the liberation of her mother nation in heart is severe,
But, she can not be defeated.
At this moment, she meets the young man Vaan.
With this meeting, begins the change in Ashe's heart.

And thus...

The meeting of these two people will greatly change the story of this world.

Re: Final Fantasy XII

I'm definitely getting it as soon as it's released here. It seems very promising IMO, more promising than any FF title for a long time now

The story of Ivalice? Wasn't that FFT? And FFTA?

I might buy it, and it does look like it could be a winner.
