Re: The sphere grid

Definitely unique and new. It was great, until Kimahri started lagging behind. BUt that' s my fault. Did anyone get Ultima? Pretty hard. But yeah, it does give more freedom in choice of skills and stats. Before, the only thing you could do was level up as best you could and try to learn the skills. That was about it. Now, you can choose your own.

Re: The sphere grid

I found the spere grid unbelievably huge at first, after I fought about 150 hours I wasn't impressed. Nemesis was a punk! He never even had a chance fighting a die hard RPG fan

Re: The sphere grid

I loved the Shpere Grid.. It was a good addition to Final Fantasy. To tell the truth I had alot of fun getting shperes and placing them on places on the grid. I liked to see the different colors also HAHAHAHA!!

Hey BM...how far did you get into the whole leveling up/beating the original creations monsters? I found, after a while, that everything was too easy and made the game boring to play.

Re: The sphere grid

Well I got pretty far into the game. Although sometimes I had gotten stuck on like 1 or 2 bosses.

Re: The sphere grid

I got so far into beating everything...I was going for a perfect game. I realized that you couldn't have 99,999 hp unless you used hp plus armor (this is unless you don't want to have 255 of every stat.) I chose to have around 100 luck for everyone, 255 of every other stat, and about 75,000 hp. Needless to say my guys were so sick I didn't even care what Nemesis did to me - it was like he was just sneezing in my direction...so, yeah! I just focused on getting my characters weapons and armors w/4 open/customizable slots so I could have cool auto-abilities but since they had so much speed I could go through the whole bunch w/o the enemy getting in so much as a punch.

I don't think I'll play it again anytime soon after that. But I still LOVE FFVII.

Re: The sphere grid

I ran out of power spheres from doing the Don Tonberry trick...of course, that's to be expected.

Even though it was such a great idea, it was quite easy to manipulate. (*cough* Don Tonberry*cough*stat maxing*cough*)

Re: The sphere grid

I think the sphere grid is an awesome idea, it allows you to customise ur characters abilities and skills to ur liking, but there is a down-side to that ... like the first time i picked up and played ffx .. i ended up with Tidus focused on magic and lulu focused on attacks, not the best idea i know >_< . But once you get used to it, its actually quite simple. (once you get the 99 warp spheres, then its simple as pie lol).

Re: The sphere grid

I think the Sphere Grid System is one of the best things Square ever came up with to use in a Final Fantasy. I loved it!

Re: The sphere grid

I think it's way too time consuming and difficult for the people who don't want to invest a lifetime in building up your characters.. Customizability is good, at least to an extent, but I think I prefer a simpler system.

Re: The sphere grid

I liked the Sphere grid idea..i liked how all of your charecters could have all abilities so you don't have to have a specific person in your party to be able to heal or use black magic
