Has anyone ever done this?

Has anyone ever found all the imp equipment and changed your character into am imp? I did it with mog, it raised his def to 255 only 1 damage from any physical attack and he does well over 8k sometimes 9k damage with an offering and a hero ring equipped. (against the t-rex in the dinosaur forest) it made him practically a god with only being able to be hurt from magic attacks.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

I collected alot of Imp equipment when Esper-boosting everyone, but I don't think I've tried 'Imping out' my characters.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

Nah, could never really be bothered. There are far better combos in FFVI than the Imp Equipment combo.

I did, however, get 4 Fully Equipped Onion Knights in FFIIIj by abusing a flaw in the programming (commonly know as the 'equipment transformation cheat'). It works on the same principal, in that it takes a class that is usually incredibly weak and provides it with equipment that turns your character into a demi-god.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

How on Earth does that transformation glitch work? I've never figured out how to try that.

I'm certainly never going to 'manually' get the equipment, that's for sure.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

Sir Bahamut wrote a fantastic FAQ on Fully Equipped Onion Knights that includes a detailed description of how to get the glitch to work that can be found on gamefaq.com. I just used that.

And no, you would have to be insane to get it normally.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

I did that, because the little imp was so cute, but I stop during it when I was in a tough battle. You can still fight well as a imp, but you can't do certain things as you would do if you were not a imp.

I'm guessing this is also one of the glitches that you can find only on the SNES version of FFVI?

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

He was actually talking about the NES FFIII. (Onion Knights and their uber-equipment.) It's very similar to FFVI's Imp Equipment.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

Ah, thanks to clarify. ^^"

Oh, and an other Has-Anyone-Ever-Done-This:

The Cursed Shield. If you continuesly equip that on any character, after (forgot the right number, but it was quit a lot of) battles, you learn ultima with it. o.o

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

Yep, after like 256 battles with it equipped (you can take it off and put it back on, however, the counter doesn't start over if you take it off), it turns into the Paladin's Shield, which teaches Ultima. This makes the Ragnarok esper worthless, but it'd be really tedious regardless. (To get all the items Morph gives you and learn Ultima without it.)

But you can get Illumina, so I guess it's worth it.

Re: Has anyone ever done this?

Imps were Kappas in the Japanese version (Kappa are monsters in Japanese mythology), but I don't believe there's an actual character named Kappa.
