same here, in one of my games where every1 is at lv 99, don't know how much money I have but it is a lot anyway

It looks like a coin, with a hole in the middle of it. There are golden and brozen versions of it.

In Dirge of Cerberus they look like gold bars.

Coins or something of the sort would seem more appropriate. Maybe bills for more technologically advanced worlds like FFVII or FFVIII.

I do not think they would use Bills or Bars lol, I am more into the coins since when you play most of the games they show a coin instead of the other 2 . It must be really heavy carrying so much gill later on though correct?

Maybe 1 gil is a coin, but they may have like we do, that if you get for exaple 63 gil, you get 1 50 gil bill, 1 10 gil coin and 3 1 gil coins or something like that. To prevent the heavyness when you start to get over 1 million they problaby change in their money for bigger bills or something

The coins could be like 1 gil, 5 gil, 10 gil and the bills like 50 gil, 100 gil, 500 gil, 1000 gil, 5000 gil and so on

I understand what you are saying like how our currency system are right now. 100 cents = 1 dollar bill. Anyways, that would be nice, or instead of bills, just make it another type of coin, example: 25 gill = one 25 gill coin.

In X, when you bribe the monsters the gil used looks like golden coins...so that's what I always thought it was.
