So, might someone please explain me?

Everyone dies.

Then Asuka and Shinji are revived with the fate of everyone else purposely left ambiguous.

And are they revived only because they notice they want to live??

Shinji comes back for that reason. There is no real indication as to why Asuka returned, although most people theorize it was because Shinji (who has some influence, if indirect, over Instrumentality) wanted her to.
