Felines are unmistakably better adapted for survival; however that doesn't grant them a higher level of intelligence proof.

It'll probably sound blank without an actual reference, but maybe anyone else recalls reading news about a rescue incident in one of the states (in the US) where the owner had a heart attack so his pet dog rushed from the house and stood barking at the cars in the freeway until one stopped and lead its driver to his owner who was saved an ambulance call later. Furthermore canines learn tricks easier and quicker in general.

Still, I don't think there's a clear view about which is the smarter creature.
