i like ff8 and really like the storyline and the weapons...but i hated the junction system...i dont hate coz i culdnt use it, i culd use it very well actually, but i hated it coz its not the characters tru strength, they need aid from magic...also i hated the draw thing, it was so annoying....

sorry to say bad things about it, as this is a favourite game not (not that im saying its not 1 of my fav's), so my fav ff of all time is ffvii, i think it always will b, coz the team jus did a brilliant job of it...i mean in DoC, they still pulled it off...even tho DoC is a 3rd person shooter, i still think its much better than the other ps2 ff's
thanku ffvii team for ur wonderful merchandise XDD ^^

yeah you are right clief, i didn't like the draw command either, maninly due to the fact i'm one of those people who have to have a hundred of every spell possible. Its really slow too to do.

I thought the rest of the junction system was ok though.

im one of those ppl too dappa...jus cant bear to use a magic coz then i have to find it and draw it again...but my oppinion on the junction system is still the same...it jus made ur characters unbeatable...i dont see the point in making ur characters gods, i do like a little bit of a challenge

Thing is, in FFVIII a simple way to make the game more challening is to aviod leveling up as much as possible/as you want. Even though the enemies won't level up either, I think you'll find the game can be signifigantly challenging at times (like the battle with Edea at the end of disc 2).

I believe that with exception to enemies with constant levels, the battles get much harder to win as the opponents level up, they learn new skills and abilities that cause heavy damage...

If you're not careful, you may end up dead...

So either way it's not easy...

[To dappa]

Don't forget that many GFs have the ability to refine magic from items...
But until you get those abilities you can do the following:

I understand that using the draw command take a while, so to do it quickly, it's best to have the ability Mag-J and junction a magic to it...

It's better to get that ability early as you need good Mag stat to be able to draw other magics (that allows you more successful draws, to higher levels of magic, and from higher level enemies), then junction them to your other stats...

Additional abilities such as Mag 20%, Mag 40% etc. would be useful too...

Exactly. The higher your party's magic stats, the faster/more convienient to draw system will be. Junction each character for the highest possible mag stat...

Yea i never used magic much at the beggining of the game, but when it got nearer to the end i relied on them more.

Yeah well that's because the game kind of asked for it towards the end. I hated it when I wouldn't use it through the entire game and then you really needed you characters to be at a certain level to get somewhere...mine never were so I had to run around and level up for like ever!

Was tough between FFX and FFVII...
but i decided on X because it just an amazing game and i love rikku :P

Well I Would Vote For FFXII Because It was the only one Who could provide With a decent challenge YIAZMAT KICKASS!! ;)

U could say That ABout FFXII Its Not too good as FFVIII..but Damn FF8 is too damn easy!! Omega EASILY SUCCUMS WITH 100% Drain to Junction attack...FFX IS a pain in the butt to fight the dark aeons..My choice would be FFX!!! The best characters- fighting style and BLITZBALL the best mini game ever in any ff

ff8 and OMEGA!!!! easy?!

Holy smokes! 0.0

im glad then i never tried any other games of the series -.-

True my friend!! Try playing FF12 for a REAL challenge

FF8 Omega has 1 - million if u are at lv 100!
FF12 Yiazmat has 50,000,000 HP!! Yes Its 50 MILLIONS!!! it takes 3hours IF u are relly powered! and the tough part is near the 3 millions...it kills any character from 10 to 10 seconds! and there is no protection against that..just a lot of pacience and time...

You just need some good gambits...or common sense.

Shell cuts the percentage of Deathstrike in 1/2. If you have a powered party, you can change your gambits from the beginning through to the end and slowly take off different buffs you don't RLY need...like Protectga and Hastega...and just keep your restorative and shell up and thwack him every few casts of Curaja and Raise. ^^;

You can beat him in about 50 minutes with the right gambits. =x

I'm a fan of the junction system, it's funand makes the game a bit more complicated.

FFX is lotsa fun, but I love my gold Chocobos too much, so FFVII will always be my favorite. ^-^

my choice was tactics. i loved it so much. it had what i think is the best storyline. and i like the strategical battles

OMG!

that made me think u were not a bot @.@, but by god i wont let u soil the pride thread of this place

For me FFX and FFIX both have great story lines....however i like FFX on top.

By the way...cant wait till FFXIII comes out, looks wicked :D
